I have won admittance to a few events before myself. What I find crazy is that you don’t get much advanced notice to make arrangements to go. The event has always been within a few days of being notified that you won. Not sure if this was the same in your case or not.

You never know what people are going through and it makes my new year's resolution of "RAK" random acts of kindness throughout the year more meaningful. It all started with a fortune cookie that says "Your kindness will have the power to heal wounds". I have it clipped to my laptop to remind myself daily-alongside my "lucky" feng shui fish! I am sorry that you and your family are going through such a hard thing. I hope that your fellow sweepers compassion and concern have helped in a small way!

Thank you so much. I love that

Ha I won this too, except I won it at 4pm the day of the show. I live in Lower Manhattan so I technically could have made it, but didn't have enough interest to rush out the door.

Also so so so sorry to hear about your husband. Best of luck to him on his chemo.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately is stage 4 and there is no cure
I'm so sorry. I hope you have a good support system in place. I lost my husband in September after many years of illness (it wasn't cancer). Sending you hugs and an invitation to PM me (hmmm, do we have that here?) if you ever want to chat.
