I grew up in San Diego. If you pick La Jolla, you'll love it. Down town is clean & nice. So is the La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Shores (ocean). Birch Aquarium at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography is close as is Torrey Pines State Beach. The San Diego Zoo shouldn't be missed if you have transportation and a whole day to take it in. So many things to do & see in San Diego. :cheers:
