Please watch remarks about sponsers in any form on site

 All watch what you post or say about any sponser on the site. They ARE watching. I made a remark on a SHELL gas instant win "someone was very bored at SHELL to make these screen savers "WELLL today I recieved a short note from SHELL about my remark, It was a NICE letter but it was still the companys way of saying HEY we watch. I sent them a apology note back. Im standing over here in this corner before I get in anymore trouble lol  Im being niceeeeeeeee

Everybody reports everything to everybody-its amazing how folks have time to sweep for all the skulduggery . Last year somebody reported me for my user name on another site (it involved a copyrighted medical product). That took dedication. :headbang:

Instead of wasting time to email you,(or how ever they contacted you), they should have taken time to IMPROVE that sweep. I don't care WHICH sponsor you are........screensavers are NOT wins. :nono:

To me it does seem as if they are bored, if they are emailing people about comments, and looking for things posted on sweeps websites.

:headbang: With all the money Shell makes I am sure they can afford to hire someone to do this. They probably get google alerts just like we do for wins. It's nice that they took the time to reply to you. Although we may not always like some of the freebies it is wonderful that they do sponsor a sweep for us to win prizes.

all they have to do is stick their product name in a search engine. I have been getting google alerts with my SA posts because my screename is my first name. Google computer robots browse almost all websites that can be acessed without a password (and they have access to some that do require one). Although you need a password to participate in SA you can browse it without registering.

Companies aren't vengeful but my sister works in interactive marketing for a major corporation and as part of her job she spends time browsing the internet for comments on her company and their products. They want to know what people think and the internet is definetly a forum where people review products, companies and services albeit in a somewhat casual manner. You should always take into consideration that the internet is somewhere you have little privacy. If you say something on the internet it is easily copied and pasted and deliberatly shared with someone else or that on places like message boards/ web forum your audience may be broader than you know. I am not saying you should restrict what you say on the internet but just remember it is WORLD WIDE.

I guess that explains why their gas is always 5 cents more than everyone else in town.

I'm curious.......how did they contact the OP? Surely they couldn't have emailed her, if she only made the comment in a forum. Did they pm her? If they did, then how do you know for sure that it was really them? And why would they say ''watch what you say'', if their job is to search the internet for comments on their products and company?? Wouldn't they want to know both negative and positive?

Just seems a bit odd to me

You HIT it right on the WORDING ms ANNIKA!!! I think thats what happened or to the MEANIE :crazytongue: who CUT n PAISTED my silly remark... :crazytongue:  Looking around to see if KEN is looking LOL lol LOL  I bettter go back to the quiet couch b4 I get in TROUBLE .

People waste too much time trying to get others in trouble. I find it odd that they got your email address unless it was given to them by someone :nono:.

Like I said before, someone more than likely copied and pasted the post and URL and emailed it to them. It would not be cost-effective to hire someone to browse forums and other sites for comments about their company. There wouldn't be enough to warrant hiring someone to do this and the results from such posts would hardly give them accurate feedback. This is not how companies go about getting customer feedback about their product(s) when they do marketing and quality-control studies. It's a more professional process that requires accurate and reliable feedback.

:crazytongue: To the BORED meanie who has SHELLS market TEAM ON speed dial :crazytongue: Everyone knows hun HITTHEGROUNDBOYS or HIITTHEDIRTBOYS or HITTHEDECKBOYS . Ive been around for years with the ROADDEPUTY team online on a cop site with some FLORIDA officers . MANY MANY MANY chattters online who HATE any type of law enforcement & they will do childish things like this to try to " BUST" A OFFICER . Im USED to it many years now. Now where are those free FIREMAN of the year calendars...They were HOT. MORE SWEEPS MORE SWEEPS

'Boo-Its not hard to drag up somebody's email and other contact, esp. if they are on a win list. Whoever busted me to Scandipharm had all my info, even middle name. Spelled it right, too.

You've got to be kidding. Man, some people have wayyyyyyy to much time on their hands. Maybe they should go get a real job and quit being childish. Wow, I just can't even believe it.
