As the title indicates, "JCPenneyRewards," so it is connected to their rewards program. There are two things going on: 1) ESPN Studio sweeps for a trip to N.Y. and 2) the JCPenney Rewards program. I skipped this one because I couldn't figure out what it's all about and how the two are related from this page:

It looks like your credit card number is being asked for as an option for people who want to track their rewards online, but I'm not sure. Maybe someone who has been entering can tell you more. It ends today, so it is kind of late to get started on this daily anyway.
It is important to be cautious and when in doubt, ask, as you did. I would rather be conservative and not enter something if it didn't feel right. People have different comfort levels.
This does not mean it is a scam. I moved your post here because "Reported Scams" is the place for the SA Admin to post. In this case, your post is really a question or comment and other SA members can provide you with more information. I'm sure people have been entering daily without a problem. I checked the Comments under the sweeps listing, and there are none, so that is a good sigh!

Thanks. I understand what you are saying. I just think it's very odd to type in credit card info. for a contest. I actually entered but left out the credit card info. They then sent me an email to make sure I didn't want to enter it. @@ LOL Not me.
