Border collie on ballot in northern Ky. town

Posted by Amanda Lents - email

RABBIT HASH, KY (AP) - Following the death of its mayor, the small northern Kentucky town of Rabbit Hash is preparing to elect a new leader.

The only candidate so far is a border collie named Lucy Lou.

The situation isn't unusual for the Boone County town. The former mayor was a black labrador retriever named Junior Cochran, who died May 17 after serving since 2004.

The Kentucky Enquirer reported on its Web site Thursday that the Rabbit Hash Historical Society has scheduled voting to begin August 31st and end November 4th, with voters paying $1 per vote.

Proceeds benefit the historical society.

According to the Web site http://www.rabbithash.com, candidates for the office may be humans or animals but not ducks or geese.

Voting will be online at www.rabbithashusa.com or at the Rabbit Hash General Store.

 whats wrong with ducks and geese? A dog cant do any worse than some of the politicians here in IL thats for sure.

I think I am going to sign up Buster to run for Sheriff, Star for Mayor, and Angel won't run for anything because it is just beneath her ~ she should just be appointed queen!

Angel is a cat, right? :nono:

Yes! Of course...a very picky cat. She picks out certain pieces of food and leaves the rest for Star who is only allowed to eat after she is done

AUGH. I have one cat.. wghich showed up on my property and I was going to shoot since I thought it was a raccoon.. but raccoons don't meow.

she's the queen of the house.. oh wait, that's my daughters title. excuse me :nono:

gay men do not all want cats, you know

Our one fox Artie goes over to a neighbors farm and LOVED her bean soup.. except he takes out the celery and carrots and threw them on the floor. picky, picky, picky :nono:

Well there is a reason I have 'Crazy Cat Lady' under my name...I love cats and I will be the lady that they come and take away for having way to many cats in the house when I get older

Angel has been the queen of the queen's though ~ she just keeps on getting quirkier by the day...we changed our living room around and she wouldn't come in our house for almost a month...and she let us know about it by standing on our front porch and meowing loudly over and over and over...

Of course, I will also have some dogs also  Maybe a few birds...who knows :crazytongue:

Try moving across country with a cat who gets sick everytime she flies. :tongue2: She has to be sedated and caged. And then when she wakes up.. IN A NEW HOME.

I'm surprised they don't find me with my throat slit and Princess sitting by me laughing. :error:
