anyone know if the ultimate guitar sweeps are legit? my son apparantly just won a trip to sanfrancisco to guitar workshop for a week. wonder what the taxes will be on that??? weve never won anything over 100 b4. :scratch:

No one here can ever tell you about the cost of taxes on your wins without knowing your income, exemptions, deductions, etc. But even in the worse case scenario it wouldn't be too much on that amount compared to the fun he is going to experience.
 
Ultimate guitar is very legit. I won a guitar amp from them last year. Arrived 3 weeks after the win. Congrats on the win and have a great time. :headbang:
 
Congrats! That's a great win, especially if your son plays. The judging agency will send paperwork and it will detail out the rules and value of the trip. At that point you can decide if the tax burden is worth the experience. I would say it is, but hey - I'll travel anywhere, anytime! Enjoy!

In Michigan when i won a trip to the superbowl it was valurd at 12.0000 said 11.0000 on the paper work they sent back but i only had to pay 2.000 in taxes, so it wasnt to bad for a great trip. for 5 nights its when the game was in arizona. Hope yous all have a blast on a great win.
