I ranted about them a few months ago when I tried to list some various gc and was told that I was violating their new policies, etc.....Figured it was a minor inconvenience, so I listed various items before Christmas to get some cash for presents-----let me just add here that I have had approximately 300 transactions with ebay, most of them selling, and I have 100% positive feedback---so as Im listing stuff, after about 7 or 8 items have been listed, I get this message from them that they are restricting me from listing anything else, because my seller ratings are below the allowable level!!! For those who dont know, buyers rate you by giving you stars for shipping time, price, etc...along with just an overall experience.......MONTHS ago, I sold something, and because one of my kids was sick, I wasnt able to mail it out for a WEEK, instead of within the day or two that I usually mail stuff---I even wrote the person and explained the situation and they said it was not a problem....however, when they gave me feedback, they gave me such a low rating for that one item, that it dropped my rating (in just that area) down to a level where I can no longer list items---get this, I have almost perfect 5 stars in all the other areas, 3.8 stars in that one, and 100% positive feedback overall, and ebay will no longer let me list stuff because one person gave me a low rating on shipping!! I wrote ebay a strongly worded letter, and their response to me was basically, "bummer for you" Not that I have any other option obviously, but I am done with them.....if they are going to keep someone like ME from selling, then the people who are left on there must be PERFECT. Sorry for the rant, it isnt the end of the world, but ebay has been my source of "mad money" for years now, and I feel so wronged by the new rules that have been set up, because they are so unfair to people like me who are honest and legitimately good sellers.

And ebay has made it so easy for people who want to cheat they system to falsify feedback, rig the sales and so forth...you could fake 37,000 transactions and bring your stats back up :sunny: Sell yourself gift cards?

sorry it hasnt worked out for you.. I dont sell on ebay just buy. I have heard alot of people complaining about ebay though. doesnt sound like a good way to do business. just curious but what word are ya'll using that is coming up as hug?

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with them.

There has to be some sort of glitch. One moderate "comment" shouldn't be enough to get you banned. Keep trying to communicate with them to get it straightened out.

Best of luck! :)

I sold some stuff on Ebay as I had a storage unit full of clothes and such that were brand new and I would never wear again. It was so maddening to me! The extra money was okay, but after adding up all the listing fees and Paypal fees...and the constant nervousness of getting dinged on the sellers ratings made it not worth it anymore to me. I literally was so worried about p'ing someone off and them leaving a negative or less-than-a-five-star rating I got tummy aches and insomnia. They just have so many different rules that they can be difficult to understand. And I had a huge rate of non-payment as sellers couldn't leave negatives anymore.

To me, Ebay isn't very seller-friendly anymore and it is kind of sad. Years ago it was fun, now it's just nervewracking to me.

I used to sell lots and lots of stuff on ebay several years ago...it was a great source of income. But they kept changing it around, adding new rules, shipping prices went up, and it just got to the point that it was hardly worth it. Back in the day, people sold stuff they had around their houses...now it's just a storefront, really.

I completely lost interest in them...

I gave up on ebay more than a year ago, before the put the new feedback rules in place. The Paypal rules and the fees were already onerous, and I finally had enough of them. Once in a while I buy something, but it's now a dreadful place for small sellers. Shame, I used to really love Ebay and so hundreds of things there. I think they jumped the shark when they bought Paypal.

Once in a while I sell on Craig's List, but that place is partially owned by Ebay, so watch out for negative changes.
