THIS STORY http://www.salemnews.net/news/articles.asp?articleID=9849 should be enough to make you
a.) angry,
b.) repulsed, or
c.) scared to death of what our country has the potential of becoming if we allow behavior like this.
Short of the long story... Woman is assaulted by a family member, other family members call 911. Deputy arrives at the house, asks bleeding head injured victim for her ID, she mistakenly hands him her dead sister's ID. She realizes her mistake, explains, and asks for the license back. The deputy does not seek medical attention for the victim....instead the deputy insults her, she in turn gets belligerent, so he arrests her the whole throw down the perp way ---- ummm, hello, HEAD INJURY. This is what happens when she gets to the jail....
Here is a video. WARNING, it is disturbing http://www.wkyc.com/video/player.aspx?aid=53707&bw= . And, the follow up http://www.wkyc.com/video/player.aspx?aid=53820&sid=82519&bw= . Sure, and of course, they lost the dash cam footage. :::rolling eyes:::
I know there are 2 sides to every story and we aren't hearing the cops'. Maybe she was drunk? Maybe the license thing looked sketchy? But strip search? SINCE WHEN does drunk or disorderly warrant that?

Steffey was allegedly held to the ground and stripped completely naked and left inside the jail cell for six hours without a blanket and in order to try to keep warm, and regain dignity she wrapped herself in toilet paper to prevent the Sheriffs deputies/guards/staff from seeing her naked.
The documents allege she was not permitted access to a telephone; was not booked for six hours; didnt receive reasonable medical attention for six over hours; repeatedly called for help; went without clothing; spent the entire night in jail naked; and was eventually advised by a guard she was charged with resisting and disorderly conduct.
The documents allege she was physically and emotionally brutalized while Gurlea and the John and Jane Does sought charges against her to cover up their unreasonable acts and omissions.
