Non activated gift card

I was wondering if anyone has ever won a gift card only to find out it was never activated. I won a $100.00 wal-mart gift card from closer weekly back in Feb. I was saving it to use with my granddaughter. Went to wal-mart today, spend 93.00, only to find out the card had 00.00 balance. Now that is embarrassing. Check card online when I got home-00.00 balance. E mailed closer at Bauer Entertaining groups, e mail came back undeliverable. called NY office left message explaining, no call back yet. Any advice?

I'm proactive & always check balance before I shop but b4 I wised up, I lost a prepaid card because they charged a monthly "maintenance" fee that ate up the balance b4 I got around to using it! Now I use cards as soon as possible!

Anyway - the card should have an 800 # on it, or a website - that's where to go to check

Amy, I've received a bunch of Amex, Visa, MC, etc., gift cards that would take $$ off each month too, so what I do now is purchase myself an Amazon gift card with it right away. It sends it to your account electronically, and never expires. So I just add any GCs I win to it, and save up for something I really want =)
