I noticed there is a new category of Sweeps listed as "Dvd Sweepstakes". Are these going to be all one entry or are there going to be daily's mixed in? I can see people getting confused and annoyed if they are mixed together. I do think a seperate category is a good idea though both for those who love and those who hate DVD contests.

They are mixed. It says though if its 1 per peson/email or 1 per day. I really like it. Alot of dvd sweeps are email entries so it makes it easier to do them all at once when its like this.
 
I like to enter the DVD and CD sweeps, but I know I will get frustrated :cussing: having to wade thru all the one entry ones to find the daily entry ones. :scratch:
 
It also seems like more work for the Admins to have to start seperating sweeps by prize category. I feel like frequency is the most beneficial for them to sort by and if a user wants to seek out a particular prize or prize type then it is there responsibility to search and sort through the listings to find what they are looking for.

I see what you're saying, but maybe it would be easier just to have a section that is e-mail entries rather than separating the DVD and CD entries. I also liked them when they were separated with the daily / one time. I could submit a lot quicker with it that way.
 
Several members have requested this new category. It'll take some getting used to. This was one of the items in the suggestion thread.

Hope you will all give it a few days to get accustomed to it.

I do not like this at all either, for the same reason that others have listed - the fact you have to keep searching through the DVD & CD listings in your favs to find the daily entries. I hope that SA might consider switching things back... :cry:
 
Rather than grouping all DVD's, daily and one entry, into one group, and all CD's into one group, daily and one entry, maybe it would work better to have a DVD/CD daily entry group and a DVD/CD one entry group. Still just 2 new categories but a lot easier to work with for those entering. Just a thought. But no matter how it goes, my hat is off to those who do the input of the sweeps into all the categories :cheers:. That can not be an easy job. Good luck and lots of winning to all :headbang:
 
I actually like the new sections for CD's and DVD's because I normally do not enter those contests, and have to wade through them, since there is so many. Now, I can skip them without any trouble :)
 
I think the NOTES feature would work for these - just hit enter 3-4 times, type DAILY ENTRY, hit enter 3-4 times again (so the NOTE stands out) and zipping through them would be easy - also, don't click the SweepsCheck√ box for the dailys - just for the 1x's :)
 
I just did my entries for the DVD's. I only have yesterdays new ones in it right now since I haven't done todays new ones. It was time consuming to check the entry allowance for each one. Most of the suggestions on how to make the dailies stand out are time consuming also. I still feel a one entry DVD/CD category and a daily entry DVD/CD category would solve everyones problem. Those who don't like to enter for dvd and cd could easily skip them and those of us who do like to enter for dvd's and cd's could enter them easily. Another reason I don't like the new set up is that when I am pressed for time on the one entry sweeps I just add them to my sweeps and then go back at a later time, even days or weeks later, and catch up on entering them. Oh well, I will adjust. Worse things have happened in my life :scratch:. Good luck all!
 
I ALSO HAVE TO AGREE WITH COLLEENJUDGE COMMENTS. FOR THOSE OF US THAT DON'T HAVE SITE OF A TEENAGER ANYMORE IT IS KIND OF HARD TO READ THE FINE PRINT AND TO DO THAT EVERYDAY ITS JUST GOING TO MAKE IT EVEN HARDER.
 
If the reason for making a DVD and a CD category is cause membership wanted them separated out from the regular sweeps it is good it was done cause some people don't like CD or DVD sweeps. All the other reasons given for liking the change would still be valid if the DVD and CD were grouped together and then split according to one entry and daily entry. Someone likes it cause the email ones are all together. If split to daily and one entry, all the email ones would still be together. If someone doesn't like CD or DVD sweeps they could just ignore the 2 categories (CD/DVD one entry and CD/DVD daily entry) same as they can ignore them now. I thought the categories were to make it easier to enter sweeps. I agree with those that think this makes it harder.

Your points are valid colleenjudge - I put a word in to admin to see if it's feasible to change to entry frequency/DVD or CD :)
 
btw - I had to learn novel ways to work around the limits at the site I was at before, and had no way of having my voice for changes heard there, so I still try to find a way to "fix" things in that manner :laughing: :whistle:
 
I love having a separate category for DVD sweeps. I personally love entering DVD sweeps, and this has made it so much easier. I think splitting it into daily and one time entry would help though.

After a couple of days with the new categories, I think Colleenjudge's suggestion is right on target:

"a DVD/CD daily entry group and a DVD/CD one entry group."

For those of us who want to enter DVD/CD dailies, this would solve the problem of having to read through the small print at the end of each item every day to see if it is a daily (thanks for posting these details!), and also would not involve the extra step of posting a note to yourself for each daily.

For a long time, I rarely entered DVD/CD sweeps, and I found it easy to just glance at the New Sweeps list every day and hit sweeps check, and move on. That is what I do for the book sweeps also. I was surprised to see the separate category for DVDs and CDs. As it is now, it makes the sweeps easy to enter initially, but a bit more difficult to re-enter.

Thanks everyone for the hard work behind the changes and for the good points brought up in the discussion.
 
Ok, I have given the DVD and CD categories several days and I still find it VERY frustrating :cussing: to use. I have tried sorting them by name and this helps a little but I still have to check nearly each one to make sure if it is daily or one entry. It is also difficult to check if you missed entering anything that you should/could have entered because when you sort according to sweeps check date it still groups the one entry and daily together so you still have to look at the entry allowance for each one. :hammer: I am almost ready to just forget entering for DVD's and CD's. But I hate to do that :cry: because I keep them around unopened and then I always have a last minute gift.

I've been following Amy's suggestion, and posting a note to myself under each daily DVD sweep. When you post your note, start by hitting "Enter" 3 or 4 times, then type "Daily" then hit "Enter" 3 or 4 times again. All the blank space makes the sweep stand out on your list, and you can spot it easily, no matter how you sort your sweeps.

Of course, it would be much easier to re-enter if the CD and DVD sweeps were pre-sorted, as you suggested. I like your idea of two categories. One for CD/DVD One Entry and the other for CD/DVD Daily.
