This time i'm not posting a win, but rather a need for support. My sister (she's my best of friend), just had a stroke which left her right side paralyzed and she's only 41 years old. I'm in a lot of pain and sadness because I don't know if she can walk again, though i'm very hopeful. I'm trying really hard just to enter contest so I can take my mind off about it but doesn't really work  Any encouragement will help... thanks...

Oh Dear

I am so sorry to hear that.

Often times things turn out to be not nearly as bad as we first thought.

Chin up! I am sure that you will be in the thoughts & prayers of many of us.

prayers and thoughts are with you...please try to stay positive around your sister...i had a stroke last year, and the positive faces are a blessing.

I am so sorry to hear of your sisters stroke. My father-in-law (60) just had a stroke after Christmas. I'll be the first to tell you it sucks but it does get a lot better. All you need to do is have a very positive attitude and patience in such difficult circumstances. Help her but make sure you don't do everything for her or treat her as a child. This will help her outlook as well as yours. Look at everything in a positive way. She's still here with you. I promise you will feel better.

My 46 year old brother had a stroke and did not realize it for a few hours. He still has some problems but really he is doing very well. Little bit slower and when it happened he tried to hit a nail with a hammer and couldn't. So there is some hope, she may need therapy but hopefully she will do well

BIGMAMMA is completely correct!! My friend who is in his 30s had a stroke last new years day and is doing very well EXCEPT his girlfriend does EVERYTHING for him, but it might be a guy thing, but that does not help... they have to help themselves to get back and tough love is your job when she gets to the point of recovery. God bless you BOTH!!

Sorryto hear about your sister. Please know that the good lord will put no more on your shoulders than you can bear. My mother and cousin both had strokes which left both paralyzed on one side, but that did not make them any less than they were before the stroke. My heart goes out to you and so do my prayers for you and for your sister.

 So sorry to hear about your sister. The good news is that she is still young and has the support of a great sister. Depending on how severe her stroke was, the damage that was done and her determination to get better will all determine how she does in the future. Have had a few relatives and friends that have had strokes and some were so determined to get back to normal that if they didn't tell you that they had been a stroke victim, you would never know. Hopefully, her damages are not permanent. Just give her all the encouragement you can.

Really sorry to hear about your sister. She's so youg to be going through a stroke. I'll be praying for you both.

Thank you all for your wonderful support and encouragement. I promised myself to be strong and be positive for my sister. I just don't know why things happened to all good people.

Once again, thank you for your kind thoughts, I now can sleep a lot better.

I am praying for you and your sister. May the Lord wrap his arms around you and take you through the storm.

:sunny:I am so sorry about your sister I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers God Bless you both.

Praying for you and your sister. It takes time and patience on everyone's part. Be prepared for alot of crying but realize that it is hard for someone who has had a stroke. I have been around many people that have had strokes (family, friends, acquaintances) and time and positive attitude are the most important things.

Sorry to hear that. Be positive and keep your chin up. Your sister will be in our thoughts. Make your sure that your sister keeps a positive attitude also. Take care.
