I recently won my largest prize since I began sweeping. It was through a local tourism board for some travel gift certificates and other items. I was notified on the 5th that I was the winner and needed to fill out a W-9 since it was over $600. I was told as soon as that was received my items would be sent. I sent that in the same day and received confirmation from them that they had it and my package would be mailed that week. I'm in the same state as the location I won from, so I know it shouldn't take long for me to receive it. I have package notification through UPS, USPS, and Fedex. None of the sites have record of a package being sent to me. So, last night I emailed asking about the shipment. I was told it had already been shipped to my home address. I emailed back asking how it was shipped but have not received any response yet. My question is what do you do in this kind of situation? If I don't get the prize, it's ok. My concern is having to turn in my social security number and possibly pay taxes on something that I'm not getting. I have a lawyer friend I'm going to ask if I don't hear anything back from them tomorrow. But, I really don't want to have my social security number out there and pay taxes on something I didn't get. Sorry for the late reply. It was actually a contest listed on SA. It's a location we visit several times a year, so I was familiar with the site already. After a couple days of emailing, it's straightened out. I don't know what happened on their end, but I received the prize. Thanks for the response.
