Need help what would you do???

Hello,
Today I received an email from TruckerPath (with a few grammatical errors) with regards to their contest that I entered on Facebook, wanting me to prove that I am a commercial trucker, claiming that the contest was only open to truckers. I want to know how I should proceed. I believe that I originally found the giveaway through a search on SA for "iPad", and I am pretty good about reading the rules, since my state of AK is often excluded. According to the comments on their Facebook page, others received the same email and also feel that the rules changed after the sponsor ended the contest. I'm thinking that the company did not really know how to run a contest and they intended/desired it to be only for truckers and were surprised when many non-truckers entered so they are now saying it was limited entry. I understand their sentiment, but still feel like it's a bit of bait and switch on their part. I'm not a Plus member yet, so I can't search the expired sweeps for possible rules there, but I did a google search to see if I could locate the original rules of the contest, which was thru WOOBOX and here's what I found:

Thank you for participating in 10 IPads and 50 T-shirt giveaway from Trucker Path. While going over entries we have noticed that a lot of the people did NOT complied with rules and restrictions of this giveaway: 1. Must be at least 21 years or age. 2. Must be affiliated with trucking business.

To claim your winning entry we are asking each participant confirm legibility by:

Send a copy of your commercial DL (pic + name only)
Or

Picture of you in a truck with company name on it
Screen shot of Trucker Path app on your phone.
All information is secured and will not be available for public records.

Thank you for your understanding. We support our Truck Driving community and want to make sure that everything is done fair. Remember to reply no later than April 5, 2015 to claim your prize!

Im still new to this and im not totally sure what to do i do remember entering this but the response is weird...

If your involved with the trucking business and are over 21 you were eligible send what they require to get your prize if not delete.
 
I got this same email today and just posted about it on another thread. There was no mention in the rules of having to be a commercial trucker or holder of a CDL. That is the issue here, when people entered the contest, those requirements were not listed. Rules were: Trucker Path

ok I have a cdl ..so just make a copy of yours .... they want a pictureof u in a truck ....should be easy to do just go 2 a company ur are friends with if ur not working the rules said u just have 2 have a cdl...not that u r working 2...... let me know what happens ok and make a copy of the rules.....and let me know I might b able 2 help u
 
Adding requirements after the fact just seems odd to me. Also, it's weird that they would be requiring your CDL just for a t-shirt....maybe you will get the iPad!
 
Hope it is the iPad for you as well! I won one from another contest and did not need it, so I donated to a ministry where we raffled it off and earned nearly $1200! I was so pleased.
 
I sent the pics but wow they really messed this one up even their facebook is taking a lot of heat. But hopefully its the ipad i need one. But i do like how the rues change without notice...
 
This is really odd - my husband AND I received the same e-mail. What is the odds of this happening. I'm not trusting this one.
 
I also received the same email. I went to their Facebook page and tried to find the rules that said you have to be a trucker, to no avail. Only "Must complete all RULES!

Wow, I can't believe how many Sweepstakes Advantage users got this email.
 
Weird thing about this is that their facebook page shows countless people stating they received the same email. Much more than the 60 total winners that there were supposed to be. Weird..
