My son won an essay contest!

My son is in the 5th grade, he loves to write stories! I thought this contest would be perfect for him. He is so excited and I am excited for him.

Here is the email he just received-

The contest was judged by 3 young people: (Left out names from email) and 3 adults: myself, (left out names from email), our producer and Marc Farne, our Community Outreach Coordinator. We really loved your essay. At first the girls thought you were serious about the ingredients, but then they got it. Good work!

We’ll be sending out your prizes next week. We'll need to have your parent or guardian drop us an e-mail with an address we can ship to.

Spatulatta - Magic Soup Essay Writing Contest

Prizes (12): Super Soup Box filled with two Thermos Funtainers, one carton of Pacific Natural Foods chicken or vegetable stock, soup ladle, and a Spatulatta apron (ARV $25).
 
Thank you everyone. My husband and I talked on the phone about it and he said "We never know, he may grow up to be an author". He would like to create children's books but, wants a career, I told him that he can do both.

Here is his "magic" story. Short but, entertaining.


My soup is called “Hot melted pepper jack, cheesy, chili, chicken soup”. Here is what is in my soup. I put 2 cups of melted pepper jack cheese, 1 ½ cup of chili, ½ cup of garlic, 12 jelly beans, 1 ½ cup chicken, ½ a box of make your own noodles out of dough, 1 cup hot sauce, and 3 cherry flavored stones.
You are probably wondering who I am eating it with, or where that person and I are eating it! Well, I will eat it with whoever is staying here at my house. I will eat it in the sky on a big cloud.
I will eat it without my family, they are not famous. My family are people I love. I would also serve it on the Eiffel tower, it is a famous building. It would be in a familiar place that I wish to go to soon.
My magic “Hot melted pepper jack, cheesy, chili, chicken soup” would give special powers, it would make you fly. We would fly over the city after we eat the soup.

Such a creative recipe, and wonderful story... and wouldn't it be great to fly! Enjoy the soup and all the goodies! :cheers:
