My Castrol Sirius win - offered alternates - help!

I won the Sirius radio & service for a year a couple of days ago. I just received an email that many people who have won this already have sirius (I don't) and were wondering if they could have a cash alternative instead. So they've offered me (and everyone else who won), three options

1. Sirius radio & 1 year subscription
2. $125.00 cash (actual price)
3. $200.00 Kohl's gift card (retail radio & service equivalent)

Now I'm really, really confused. I was so excited to win the radio, I was thinking of giving it to my son, as his stereo was stolen recently. But can you play the Sirius radio without a regular stereo to run through? He still has speakers in his car.

But I love, love, love gift cards and I love Kohl's, so I'm tempted to take that.

Any thoughts or info? What would you do???

the sirus radio I won over a year ago had to run through a radio, but not sure about this one and it had a $40 value so I gave mine to one of my brothers.
 
My 2 cents: I would take the Kohls GC or the cash.

Satellite radio can be a bit of a pain, traveling through some areas you can't get reception, etc... plus once the year is up he would have to pay for a subscription to continue to use it.

If you took the cash you could get him a nice regular car stereo system from Best Buy or Sears, maybe even let him pick it out..

Take the money and run. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS TAKE THE MONEY. I have XM radio and I love it. I can listen to CNN news on my way to work BUT, take the money
 
I would take the money or gc. With the xm I won last year it comes with a tape that you put in the car stereo to play the satellite radio. it may be that type.
 
Thanks for your input guys - it helped a lot! I decided to go with the Kohl's gift cards. It just seems like the best deal...I can buy clothes & such there! Thanks again!
 
I won that also but the only email I got so far is the confirmation I would probably take the cash we have sirius in the newest jeep that we take trips in, its great but I like my local station around town.. I would love a house one, hope I win one of those sometime
