Movie: No Country For Old Men

I watched this movie over the weekend. I must say that I thought it was pretty awful. I mean, the entire movie was fairly depressing, seeing how the primary "good guy" was killed by that really creepy, Hannibal Lecter-like psychotic hitman played by Antonio Banderas. It was a shoot-fest, with over a dozen bloody, dead bodies. The movies' ending was rather abrupt and disturbing.

Creepy, is all I can say about this movie.

Javier Bardem, not Antonio Banderas. Coen Brothers stuff is always kind of dark and quirky. Did you see "Fargo"? Same kind of vibe.

At the total opposite end of the movie spectrum, we recently rented "Stardust" and loved it. Anyone who liked "The Princess Bride" would probably like "Stardust". Good cast too. The villain is Michelle Pfeiffer, who plays an evil witch obsessed with staying young. They also cross paths with Captain Shakespeare, a flamboyant Robert DeNiro. I won't give away anything else except a big recommendation.

this is what I thought last month when I watched it.

No country for old men~A~ I typically stay away from movies that the Academy Awards like. laughing This movie surprised me. drug deal gone bad. missing money and one really, really bad dude looking for it. Javier Bardem's character in this movie is frightening. Most pyscho's will show atleast a small amount of empathy towards someone or something. this guy has none. zero. Its like he isnt even human ya know. Amazing performance. The hairstyle is really distracting but whatcha gonna do. anyway, you should check this one out. It is a little violent. But the story and acting make up for it if violent movies arent your thing. oh, and it was nice seeing woody harrelson.

I loved it. I didnt watch anything over the weekend. It was sooo nice outside. And there isnt anything out that I havent seen that I want to. And I love the movie Fargo. woodchipper heeeeellllloooooo.

Yeah, I LOVED No Country for Old Men!!! In fact, I'm waiting to buy it and I NEVER buy hubby and I movies. Well, almost never.

The movie is dark and I liked being thrown into it emotionally even though it was rather depressing LOL Javier had me hating him yet liking him and then hating him some more. We were completely enthralled but did expect more than the ending gave.

And LMAO @ 3mnkids 1 about the hairdo  I kept thinking what bad guy would choose to wear their hair like that?!

I have sworn to never even bother keeping that kind of insane amount of money if I ever come across any. If anything, that movie will teach ya that!
