Im not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it IS a question and its about sweeping, sort of...lol

A lady I was talking to a few weeks ago, when she found out what I do for my "hobby" and that Ive been somewhat successful at it, told me that Im like the woman in some movie that came out a couple years ago about a housewife in the 50s or something that wins stuff in sweepstakes...she told me the name of it, and I cant remember what she said....does anyone know what the movie is? Im curious about it and would like to rent it sometime, but I dont want to walk into Blockbuster and "explain" it to the store clerk.....
anyone? thanks!!

Despite the title, there's more to the movie than her just winning prizes. Her biggest prize was a car; but, other than that, her lifetime portfolio of prize wins isn't what one may expect when they go to watch the movie. Plus, that back then there just weren't as many sweepstakes to enter to win prizes.

The movie has more to do with her commitment and hard work to the hobby. The ups and downs, mostly downs, in her and her family's life. It really is a very good movie.

One more strike and you're out! :crazytongue:

Huh? I figured she could go for a sweeps related mini-film fest. One drama, one humor

Trivia for Real Genius

"When Hollyfeld sends in a large number of entries to the Frito-Lay contest, he is mirroring the actions of Caltech students Steve Klein, Dave Novikoff and Barry Megdal, who, in 1974, used a similar strategy to win a McDonald's sweepstakes. Their entries came to roughly 1/5th of the total entries and won them a station wagon, $3,000 and $1,500 in food gift certificates."

"Weird Science" was about two geeks who created a woman from their computer.

"Real Genius", the only one I'm familiar with, is another geek movie where they try to break into a military computer.
