Ahhhhh .... this is one of favorite topics ...
but I will spare you a long rambling 'tirade' ... today!
I personally feel that the intention of
most sweepstakes rules is
one entry per person/user per day/contest period unless it is specifically stated that it is 'unlimited enty'. Some here seem to think along more 'liberal' lines in their interpetation. The meaning of
"PERSON" seems to be the sticking point for many.

(I seem to recall a president who seemed to have that problem also in regards to aides and 'sex'!)
Of course one must bear in mind that the real purpose of sweepstakes is to generate consumer recognition/site usage in regards to a particular product or service. Hence the daily entry format over long periods of time. They want to encourage the consumer to spend as much time as possible "absorbing" their product information.
Yet, this does not negate the fact that when push comes to shove in awarding a major prize they would probably have no reservations about disqualifing a potential winner whose computer/address/IP number was submitting 10-20 entries per day. The use of IP address recording, name/address/phone number crosschecks, and dedicated cookies are currently being used to determine eligiblity in most legitimate sweeps.
I have seen the tendency toward more 'restrictive' entry rules lately and anticipate this to become a more common practice in the future. Especially in contests that feature higher quality prizes.
Personally, I enter for myself only. If I see something that might interest a family member or a friend I will tell them about it but I won't enter for them. I guess it's just a matter of ethics for me.
... by the way: don't expect anybody here to 'tell' you if they are 'bending' the rules.

Because they won't.
