A chain and Kelloggs are added to the mix. In short, if you have ANY peanut butter products, its better not to use them right now

Kroger, one of the biggest supermarket chains in the United States, is recalling products in the 31 states where it operates stores under various names. The stores involved are Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, Fry's, King Soopers, Smith's, Dillons, QFC, City Market, Foods Co., Jay C, Scott's, Owen's, Baker's, Gerbes, Hilander and Pay Less.....

Separately, the Kellogg Company announced Monday it is recalling more products potentially linked to salmonella-tainted peanut products made by PCA.

The voluntary national recall includes 2.5-ounce packages of raisin cookies with a "best if used before" date before June 30, 2009, with UPC codes 3010032708 and 3010037899, the company said in a written statement posted on its Web site.

Also affected are Special K Protein Meal Bars, honey almond variety only, in packages of six and eight with a "best if used before" date before February 1, 2010, with UPC codes 3800039778, 3800039935, and 3800039931.

I've received so many company recalls of their peanut butter products....everyone who uses peanut butter in their foods to sell to consumers is recalling product. That being said...I simply cannot post all the recall notices I'm receiving becuase of this problem. I will no longer post recall notices of peanut butter products from this salmonella scare.

Needless to say, like the poster before me...when in doubt, don't eat it or buy it, if it contains peanut butter. The exception would be eating peanut butter straight from the jar (i.e. Jif, Peter Pan, Skippy, etc.).

This is scary, my kids LOVE peanut butter, so instead of buying any pre packaged treats, I've been using crackers and a jar of peanut butter or a good old fashion PB&J.

We had 2 2.5lb jars of Skippy that we received directly from the skippy factory. We have 1 left and so far everyone is fine. I think after this jar is gone, we are going to cool it on PB for awhile.
