Modelo Cooler win

I won a Modelo cooler value $100. I have to sign and return the affidavit within 3 days. It has to be notarized. Ack. I have to go and spend $on a notary.
 
If you have an account at a local bank they customarily notarize documents as a customer service, no charge.
 
I wrote the sponsor back and, as an accommodation, they are not requiring a notary. Just a copy of a valid id.

I forgot sometimes sponsors/JA's will use boilerplate protocols & while an ask for the GP paperwork to be notarized is logical it's usually NOT rq'd for prizes under a $600 ARV!

Why does it have to be such a hassle to claim a prize?
I wouldn't sign an affidavit for this prize.

Anyway, congrats on having your name drawn.
Hope you can receive that prize!
 
Because of gov't laws via the IRS we have to claim EVERY prize we win
BUT sponsors/JA's are only rq'd to report $600 ARV & up to the IRS
