i got an email to call and confirm my email and information as a potential winner for the mikes big summer giveaway. I thought i won something big if i had to confirm information. I have won lots of small things even a mountain dew cooler, yr supply of little debbie fruit snacks, 3 month supply of wipes from water wipes. so i never had to confirm info. they just said it be sent. so i thought i finally hit a big win. Well they said i won a cooler after giving them my info and said i might have to sign a legal document. Then she actually could look it up and said it was a cooler. do not know why i had to confirm for a cooler/ awesome prize dont get me wrong. I love winning small things too. I just lost do some companys do this on even smaller things? after reading all of sa post winnings i always heard people doing this w big wins like trips, money, cars ect. Maybe its full of prizes and beer lol?

:crazytongue: When I won a briefcase from a former employer and signed a document, I found I had to pay taxes on it at the end of the year because they reported it like income!!

Just recently I had a phone call to onfirm my information from McCormick and I won a bottle of vanilla.......I also saw just recently another person who said he/she also had to confirm for the bottle of vanilla. I thought with a phone call I had won something big...so it sounds ok to me.....:)
Congrats!!

Well, if you think that's bad, I won a movie from SheKnows and they wanted a copy of my drivers license! I let them keep that movie because I have won $10,000 in cash from a company and about $15,000 in cash and prizes from Sears but they did not want a drivers license. Of course they needed a notarized affidavit but not a drivers license. Well anyway, Congratulations.

Congrats on the Win! Some sweepstakes sponsors do require more info than others. I recently won a $400 cell phone from Lucky magazine and only had to confirm my address. Last week I was notified I won the grand prize from a Kraft sweep that was worth $600 and had to fill out forms and have an affidavit notarized. I think that any win over $500 requires that.

I received a similar email a few months ago from Bud Light Sweepstakes. I thought I won something big, but it also was a cooler. When I spoke with the lady, she said they needed to make sure I was 21 because the contest was for 21+. I'm guessing that's why they need conformation because it's from an alcohol sweepstakes and I imagine the rules state you have to be 21+? Congrats on your win

:sunny: Congratulations on the win! There is no rhyme or reason to when companies ask for affy's or verification. Have had to give info on both small and big wins. It is their prerogative to do so.
