Kraft contest AmEx debit card problems

I won a $50 Amex debit card in the Kraft contest a few months ago, and having a problem using it. Whenever I try to pay with it there is a need for a PIN and I don't have one. Sometimes the cashier is able to bypass this requirement, but more often I have to pay with my credit card or cash. Using up the balance is a real problem. Is anybody else having this trouble?
 
You have to tell the cashier to run it through as credit no matter what ,if not they will run it through as debit which requires the pin. You also cannot purchase gas at the pump you have to go in the store to pay for it after you pump it. Also keep exact track of how much you have left because if your purchase is more than what is on the card it will be declined however you can tell the cashier how much is left and they can run it for that amount and then you pay the difference with another form of payment. I too had this problem, on the front of the card there are 4 (small) printed numbers in black, right under the account number. Use these for the pin.
I used mine on Amazon and had no problem with it going through.

Although this won't help you - my advice is to always use up these cards in one trip. (Spend $60, use the card, pay the last $10.) That's the easy way to avoid troubles.
