Iwon!...and then i didnt!

A little while back i won a travel voucher from Air One (sponsor) to travel to Milan Italy, Valued at $800 R/T.

I then received and email from ePrize (the administrator) a couple days ago stating that Air One had cancelled all the flights from my nearest airport. Which is Logan (Boston). The only other flight departure was O`Hare (Chicago).

Since the voucher was non transferable , It became useless to me because i could not travel to Chicago to fly out (that would make no sense) and i could not offer it to anyone.

ePrize allowed me to forfeit as not to incur the tax on the prize, But no alternative was offered.

I simply won....and then didnt win :(

I feel disappointed and thought maybe the sponsor could offer a cash or consolation prize, But i am not angry about it at all.

My question is: Am i wrong to think that? after all i did get the good feeling of winning ,Only to lose it and i did have to pay a nominal amount in time and money to send the affidavit in.

Just so i am understood, I am not angry nor feel Air One is oblidged to me at all, Just would have been nice to not have to lose after winning.

I appreciate all the sponsors.

Personally I would have bothered to make the trip to O'Hare (even from Seattle) to be able to go to Italy.

I'd been waving :wave: :wave: :wave: and saying, "Ciao, Cara Mia" as I got on the airplane. :wave: :wave: :wave:

Yet you elected not to do that. :scratch:

You really don't have anyone to be upset at except yourself. Major Bummer! Maybe something else will come your way.
 
Well if i could have traveled to Chicago, I agree with you...But i could not (which i did mention) Not that i didnt want to...just couldnt. Thats the difference.

Obviously if ePrize offered the forfeiture, They too realized it would be difficult for folks to do or they would have just said all flights from Boston cancelled, You HAVE to leave from Chicago. Like it or not.

I was actually willing to give it someone and pay the tax on it, But it wasnt transferable.
 
Im sorry it didnt work out for you. I can see your point. Alot of folks cant afford or dont have the means to travel to another state just to catch a flight. seems a little ridiculous. I wish they had offered you something.

I hope you get a great win soon that you can use.
