IS THIS A SCAM OR FOR REAL?

HI EVERYONE:

HAPPY NEW YEAR. RECEIVED A 1ST CLASS SNAIL MAIL ENVELOPE FROM CARSAFE "NO WORRIES" CONTEST. I REMEMBER ENTERING. HOWEVER, THE PRIZES THAT WERE LISTED ON SWEEPSADVANTAGE SITE, MADE NO MENTION OF THE PRIZE I WON. THEY SAY I WON A $300 DISCOUNT ON THEIR SERVICES FOR MY ENTRY. IS THIS A SCAM TO GET MY BUSINESS? I MEAN THE PRIZES LISTED, WERE UNBELIEVABLY GREAT, THIS JUST SOUNDS WEIRD TO ME. I HAVE A GREAT MECHANIC WHO CHARGES ME NEXT TO NOTHING WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS. SO, WHY WOULD I GO TO THEM SO THEY CAN CHARGE ME A FORTUNE AND "QUOTE" GIVE ME A $300 DISCOUNT? THEY SAY I HAVE 7 DAYS TO RESPOND, BUT THERE IS NO DATE ON THE ENVELOPE OR NOTIFICATION??

ANY ADVICE IS APPRECIATED. :wave: :cussing:
 
:sunny: Although it is not a win it is not a scam. Just an advertising tool to get you to use them. When I googled this sweep I could not get the sweeps form to come up any longer although it wasn't suppose to close until 1/24/2010. It seems that many/most of the people that entered are getting this offer in the mail. I wouldn't be to eager to try to use this discount as I have a feeling that there will be hidden costs in using it.
 
I recieved the same letter in the mail a few days ago! I automatically knew it was a scam and tore it in half and tossed it in the trash. Looks like everyone that entered is winning! LOL
 
Yea, I got one too, I even thought about trying it to see just what a $300 discount would do for the bottom line. I suspect, not much ! What good is a $300 discount on something that is way over priced to begin with. I still may look into it, but certainly will not enter any financial info until, or IF I see a benefit.
 
:nono: I got the same notification. It went in the trash. It's not a prize when they are asking for my money. If I were you, I would stick with your trusted mechanic and stay away from these guys.
 
I got one too, but it's not a scam nor a win. It's simply a coupon they sent out to all that entered their sweepstakes.
