Instant Wins

Hi SA family :) I've been sweeping for 2 months now, and I am never lucky with the Instant Wins. I live in California, so for most, I can't start reentering at 9PM at night. I have changed the times I do my instant win, late at night, early in the morning, mid day, but still no wins. I play every day and always tell myself I can win :) So I am staying positive. But my question goes out to those who have been very lucky at the IW's. Do you win all the time, or just in streaks? Are there any lucky IW winners in California? How long did it take for you to start getting lucky? Thanks :)

I win in streaks too and lately has been VERY dry for the instants. Not sure if more people are entering, or I'm just on a slow streak. I've found times do matter (I'm in the west too) so switching them up is a good plan. Good luck! :)

Jayaway keep entering you will start winning on IWs for an entire year I played IWs and was a winner first week entering several times a month tennis shoes, Bears Jerseys, Crock pots, several $25 and $50 giftcards etc. The problem for me I was playing all the time and so many IWs I got burned out. So now I don't play hardly any and I focus on the larger prizes trips, cars, and cash. I'm in Illinois I don't win as often now but I have won larger now 2 trips no transpo and 1 trip to LA value $4,000 and I'm expecting a lot more this is my 2nd year sweeping. So for a long while all I was doing was winning with IWs. P.S. I entered days, nights, afternoons and won on all shifts. Good luck!

I win fairly often on IWs. When in a slump beside changing time I will change the order I enter them. Enter from the bottom of the list instead of the top. Also on the ones that you can enter more than once a day sometimes spreading them out sometimes enter one right after the other. But alway make sure you get as many entries as your allowed.

Good luck.

Bruce

Some times I win a couple then blahhh a bad week & my wifey will play & blammm she wins lol.. it's all luck buddy " I THINK "

I have been sweeping since Mid October. I won pens in October & in Nov, I won the 60 seconds of Mayhem ($50 Sports Authority GC), a Eucericn Bottle of Lotion & a $10 Citi Trend card), and so far December, I have had several instant wins, 2 year Rolling stone subscription, sandisk hat, belvedere lemon tea bottle jacket ??? ( think it's like a cozie)a, $5 dominos pizza coupon, about $25 in JC Penny button codes. & the best instant win was the durracel playful pup & all those batteries , 12 pack of AA & AAA & 8 pack of C's & D's...came in about 10 days too. So hang in there..I play at different times. I have only won 2 drawings, one was for a shampoo & conditioner & the other was a $25 Amazon GC. So in comparison I do better at instant wins lately , but I think things even out. I enter for big things & little things & I think that helps.
A little off topic here, but I have noticed the last couple of days that the media puzzles (the ones with the screwy letters that have lines, blobs or squiggles through the letters) have been almost impossible to read the last couple of days. I have had to go through 8-10 screens before I can even begin to read it. Whats up with that? Is anyone else having trouble reading them? I wonder why they are making them so hard.

I think the IWs go in streaks - I also am just not too motivated to wake up super early or stay awake super late to enter them during the "off" times - so I enter them when I can and sometimes I win. I have really been focused on single entries, pinterest, and dailies. I won my 3 big prizes (trip to TX, trip to Portugal and yesterday $5k) all thru single entries that were from smaller companies OR limited to select states.

Well, after typing all that yesterday, I won on the Duracell instant win last night! I won Fifth Prize: A Leapfrog TAG JR Reading System and a stocking stuffed with (4) Duracell battery packs including: a AAA 12-pack, a AA 12- pack, a C 8-pack, and a D 8-pack. ARV: $84.95.
Now I feel silly about complaining. Good luck all! Let the winning begin! :)

The timing of instant wins is pre-determined and they are randomly seeded throughout the term of the sweep. Let me repeat that so's there's no confusion - timing of instant wins is pre-determined and randomly seeded throughout the term of the sweep.

The first person to enter on or after the pre-determined winning time is the winner.

You're just as likely to win at 9PM as you are at 3AM.

If there are 10 prizes on a 30 day sweep, they'll be randomly seeded over the 30 day time frame. Random means random. Any possible combination of dates and times that add up to 10 wins in 30 days is possible.

There are exceptions, so read the rules carefully. There was a recent sweep for a rather large amount of cash. In the rules, it was stated that the winning times would be in fractions of a second. If you were the first to enter after the winning time you didn't win. You won only if you entered exactly on the winning time. Don't quote me, but I think the winning time was a tenth of a second. I don't think the sponsor expected to have anyone win.

The games that are occasionally part of instant win sweeps have absolutely no bearing on winning. They are there for entertainment purposes only. I always skip the games If given a choice, and move on to the next sweep.

Finally, the sponsors are free to do anything they please with the rules as long as it's legal. So, it's possible that there could be rare exceptions to the above. The sponsor puts up the prize(s) and the promoter organizes, promotes, writes the rules and runs the sweep in accordance with direction from the sponsor(s). Occasionally the sponsor and promoter are the same.

I started sweeping on another site almost 20 years ago. I've won $5,000 from Burger King on an instant and a Lenovo Laptop on a daily. My wife just won a $1,000 Laptop (Ultrabook) on a monthly. The sweep she won is still active and there are still two entry periods left. Here it is:

Microsoft.Com - Discovered Sweepstakes ( https://microsoft.promo.eprize.com/intelsweeps/:b=firefox15/ ) Timing: The Sweepstakes begins on September 5, 2012 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time("ET") and ends on January 31, 2013.
Prizes: FIVE (5) MONTHLY PRIZES (one (1) per Monthly Entry Period): An Intel Laptop (model determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion). Approximate Retail Value: $1,000.

The point is that wins are happening on all of the different entry types. Don't get hung up on instant wins. Focus on the prizes you want from all sources, and don’t get caught up in the immediate gratification of instant wins.

I lived in Calif. for a number of years. I didn't find that to be a disadvantage. The US population is heavier in the eastern time zones, so it stands to reason that you'd see more winners from there. It doesn't give them an advantage, it just means you'll see more winners from areas where the population is larger and more people are entering.

I've won so many times, from so many different types of sweeps over the years that I can't remember 'em all - or perhaps it's altzheimers, eh?

Welcome aboard & good luck

I've been doing more blogger giveaways lately. They all tend to be short and if you go through a list of low entry, ending soon stuff, you might get lucky and not have to wait too long. I've easily won a dozen in the last month, from DVDs to a winter coat to a package of different Solo paper products ($65 ARV)... http://www.tightwadinutah.com/p/low-entry-giveaways-ending-within-week.html?m=1 is a good resource to start with.

Also, go through the list of expiring soon stuff here, too. Many of the sweeps you may have entered won't end for months, thus you won't win for an even longer time...

Yeah, I realize my comment doesn't really address instant wins. But things ending soon are almost instant wins.... as you don't have to wait long to find out you lost... or won.

curmudgeon is {as usual!} correct;

The suggestions on changing up your entry order, time of day, and spacing your entries out throughout the day are great - IW's are the most popular sweeps, so being the 1st person to enter at the pre-determined time is difficult, but it CAN be done!

As a PLUS member, I can create my own categories, so if a daily gives out prizes during the sweeps [ie; DP/WP/MP {Daily Prize/Weekly Prize/Monthly Prize} ] I treat them like they are IW's.

PLUS rocks because I can create my own categories & put sweeps in MY category - so if a daily gives out prizes during the sweeps [ie; DP/WP/MP {Daily Prize/Weekly Prize/Monthly Prize} ] I treat them like they are IW's, since most of them notify winners daily!
