If you win a trip with a meeting with some celebrity?

Sometimes I see sweepstakes where it is win a trip to "wherever" and meet "whomever" or go to a concert. Lots of times I would like the trip, but don't want to take how ever much time it would take to meet the celebrity (sometimes these are only two night trips, and I imagine meeting the celebrity with waiting and everything could take a big chunk out of your day that you do have there).

So, if you were to win one of these are you contractually obligated to meet with the celebrity, do your backstage passes or whatever, or can you just take the trip and skip the meeting, concert, backstage passes, etc? I haven't been entering these because I think I am not too celebrity struck!

I guess the main question is are you required to accept EVERY part of a gift? Or, if you win, can you take the trip to NYC, and just give the concert tickets to someone on the street??

Has anyone won one of these type of trips and what was your experience?
 
:sunny: I agree with you izz. I haven't won any like that yet, but I do enter them. I figure I can always cross that bridge when I come to it. I'm sure it's more of a hassle for the celeb than it is for me and they probably won't mind that I don't want to meet them!
 
I won the trip for Fall Out Boy with a meet and greet and had to turn it down but my daughter was going to MAKE me meet them if we would have went. I would have done it for her and only for her!!! That is the only reason that I even entered that sweeps ~ it just happened to fall during the week of my husbands surgery, and then I ended up in the hospital also, so I was glad that someone got to go in my place. Caitlyn on the other hand has never recovered!!!

There aren't many that I would care to meet ~ just a few!
 
I have thought about this a few times but, I figure as another poster mentioned, I would decide when that time comes. It would depend on the celebrity and if I had tickets that were transferable I could either sell them or give them away.
 
We won a weekend trip for Las Vegas. It was to see Trisha Yearwood and play Texas Holdem' Poker with her. Due to certain circumstances, we only went for one night instead of the two. We are metal heads, but I entered anyway. Although, I would not enter for all meet and greet trips like for those punk kid bands. They left us tickets for the show. So, there, you could decide whether or not to use them. The poker game, however, was scheduled; and they did check to see if all the winners were there. Although, I'm sure a person who has no qualms about it could excuse themselves out of it.

On our New York trip a couple of weeks ago (Tropicana Twister), some winners dropped off from doing the DJ Scratch Academy thing; because they found it boring, not their thing, and wouldn't have more than some evening hours to see New York.

As for "basic" meet and greets, these are nothing more than standing in line in a stairwell or hallway waiting for the singer/band to come out. One by one, they do the whole routine, "hi, how are you", shake your hand, sign something for you, and pose for a picture, and off you go and on to the next person in line. Unless otherwise stipulated, your not hanging with them backstage.
