IE not working

I've gone into change defaults , custom, to see if IE was enabled. I checked the box to enable IE but when I click on the icon, it jumps up, flashes, but doesn't remain open. Any ideas? Thanks,
 
I am having the same problem. I can get on the internet using Google Chrome. Whats up with that? I have tried everything I can think of to fix the problem. Have done something to lock myself out ?
 
Sometimes toolbar add-ons can bust IE. Try running IE in "No-Add in" mode. From the Window Start menu go to Accessories, System Tools the click "Internet Explorer - No Add ons" .

If that works then you can go in and slowly enable add-ons until you find the one that was the culprit.

* Your anti-virus program can also stop IE from running. Temporarily disable it to see.
