I WON via a Blog, BUT I never received the product....

This is/was my biggest win so far..... $200 item. This was from a blog which was posted here on Sweepstakes Advantages. I was notified on 3/1/2012 for me to e-mail my address and they would get the item out on the coming Monday (3/5). I was excited and told my teenage son about the win. He was excited because he has wanted that item and never told me. On 3/15 I e-mailed them back to ask how they mailed it because I had not received it. On 3/16 they e-mailed me back saying that they forgot about it and they had an emergency come up. They stated that they will get it out on the coming Tuesday (3/20). They even asked if I wanted something extra, but I told them they did not have to go to the trouble. On 3/29 I e-mailed them again to see if they had mailed it yet. Today I noticed that my e-mail to them was deleted.

I am very thankful I won, but wish I had not told my son. I know the blogger was being very nice in offering up a "prize", but it upsets me that they had my son's hopes up.

Just wanted to vent. I don't want to say which blog in case the product is still on the way. I will say it is not a bigger blog, so you guys don't have to worry.

I am sorry to pry, but this happened to me not too long ago from pink zebra lounge. She never sent my prize out and it has been a few months.

You are not prying at all... I figured it has happened before. Thank you for letting me know it has happened to you. I am sorry. I know it is frustrating for you, as it has been for me.

The blog I entered is a new blog. I do know the person is a Sweeper because they have posted their wins on the blog or on other places like their Google+ account.

I have won from blogs and recieved the prize so don't give up on blog contests.

That is to bad, I have received all of my blog wins. Waiting on one more to come but I just was notified last week. also keep in mind, in most cases the prizes are coming from the sponsor not the blog owner. It is often out of their control, they can usually contact the sponsor but in the end it is up to them to send the prize. Most blogs will have a policy on this somewhere, every one is different.

The same thing happened to me on the Thirfty and Frugal Blog. I won a Hardrock USB keychain, but I nevered received it. It's been over two months. I sent an email to the owner of the blog in the beginning of April. I was told that the sponsors were claiming that they sent it, however they will send it again. I just sent another email a few days again and have not received a response. I have received some weird things from the Hardrock cafe and I think that these were sent to me instead of the real prize I won. There is no way to know for sure, though, since neither package included any type of letter.

Don't let this discourage you from entering blog sweeps. I've won several blog prizes that were shipped on time.

Definitely don't get discouraged. It took me over 2 months to get a Tassimo Brewer I won from a blog. It was not the blogger fault. It was that there was a defect in the Tassimo and the sponsor didn't want to send me a defective brewer so I had to wait. They ended up mailing me a bunch of extra tea, hot cocoa, and extras which I thought was really nice. I also still have a couple coupons for yogurt that I haven't received but I know I'll get them. The bloggers have to send the information back to the sponsors and then they send out the merchandise. Some are fast. Some take their time. But wait cuz you will get them. If you don't after about a month, write to the blogger and I'm sure he/she will help you get your prize as soon as possible. I know mine did. They were super.

I once entered a blog contest for a macbook pro on creativedesignmagazine.com. The rules stated that you tweet then post the link in the comments, entering daily. The tweet was pre-set, so there really wasn't any thinking behind it.

The winner was announced and I went back through every page of posts and could not find the person's post. Doing more research, I discovered it was a person that wrote articles for the same blog. The woman who ran the contest, Tanya, awarded it to her co-worker, Loveish!

I found the person on Twitter (his twitter account is now defunct) and verified that at no time did he tweet the required tweet, so I called them out on it. Of course my post was quickly removed, so I reposted and it went into moderation and never posted to the responses.

Bad bloggers, bad.
