I Could use some advice

HI EVERYONE....I could use some advice. I have been entering sweeps since June. I have entered ten's of thousands of times, in all categories, instant win, daily, one entry etc. I spend at least 5 hours everyday entering. My question is, what am I doing wrong....I don't win...I won a song download and bag of twix on instant win but nothing else. Am I just too impatient...I have read all the tips. I am not whining, I just want to use my time wisely. Any suggestions would be appreciated. THANKS SO MUCH YOU GUYS.

Actually you may want to whine....I have seen people post on the whining wall and then win. Maybe I need to try that.

The instants are a matter of clicking at the right time. I think we all go through cycles when we win and then nothing for a while. You just have to keep at it. Some people win a trip or other big prize in their first month and others can go years (me) without winning something that big. Just keep entering and your time will come. Good luck!

I agree with what Julie said. There are so many sweepers and so many sweeps. If you keep entering, you will win.

Are you using Roboform? It will save lots of time.

Have you tried varying the time of day you enter? For example, if you always enter the IWs at night, try a totally different time for a week or two, mix things up a bit. It is no guarantee, but worth a try.

Some people say it takes a few months, maybe four, before you start seeing wins. There is some truth in this because it may take months for the sweeps you have been entering to end, select/verify winners, send out prizes.

I guess you have also been entering the Expiring Soon sweeps, especially now at the end of the month.

Sometimes it is good to take a break (days, weeks) and focus on other things. Then when you return, you are refreshed. I also like to read and reply to posts in the forums and vote for fellow SAers (even though I will never enter a voting contest myself). I think it is like good karma, and from time to time amyshulk mentions it too, that when you help out other people, it seems to help you too, (what goes around comes around) so I'm not the only one who thinks this works.

Hopefully your winning will begin to happen soon. Don't give up!

Good luck!

I wouldn't worry about it. You've just started! Sounds to me like you've won twice in 3 months! :sunny:

You've been reading too many of those posts by people who "claim" to win 2-3 things a day or 250 times a year, etc, etc. It really doesn't happen and even if it did ... it is just junk like coupons, Coke Sweepstakes points, music downloads and free french fries. Yippee!

I sometimes go for 6-9 months without winning anything. Of course, I don't enter every single goofy 'win a coupon' giveaway. Just a select 30-60 dailies and 3-6 instants per day. Plus any one-entry ones that seem interesting that day.

90% of the contests I enter are for trips ... and I have won 2 of those in the last 3 years. (Total value: $38,000.00) Plus about $1,100.00 in cash and products.

Trust me, it will come your way too. Forget about entering "everything" and just spend your valuable time entering things you really want to win. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Good luck, Loren

 I've been doing this about 5 months & average out to about 2 wins a week. Nothing big & a LOT of books, but I'm cool with that! Have to agree with arrtup3 on the Karma thing. I do Click To Give every day, congratulate people who have won, and vote on the referrals just about everyday(even if I don't always post). If I get lazy, my wins do drop. The Whiner's Wall seems to be working for a lot of people, so give it a try. I don't do instants unless someone here sends me a referral; I can't seem to win them. I do quite a few blogs. Are you a reader? Try entering for books at some of the book blogs. You almost can't help but win. (if you need links to book blogs, just let me know, I have lots). Roboform is a great tool; it will cut your time in half if you're not already using it. Sending lots & lots of luck your way!!!

*no coupons, no music downloads, & I don't drink soda so no Coke Rewards either.

Bummer. That's too bad.

 (See what happens when you take sweeping too seriously! You tend to take things personally. )

:sunny: I wasn't taking it personally, Loren. Just pointing out that I don't enter for the wee things & I still win on a fairly regular basis. :sunny:

When I first started it, was probably 8 or 9 months before I started winning small things...then after 14 months I won $5,000..To me all the waiting was worthwhile!

I have been sweeping for about two years and win fairly regular, if some people choose not to believe it is possible to win regular without winning allot of junk that is their privilege and no hard feelings to them, really not trying to cause trouble, just stating it is possible to do. Unless you consider my 20,000 boat or 1100 vio laptop, or maybe the cool pics camera, junk. lol I do win smaller prizes also, but not just coupons and junk, one of the most important things is to have fun with it, not worry about what the other guy thinks, and enter enter enter, and you will win win win. You just have to decide how much time you want to give to it and what prizes you are interested in yourself. I enjoy most all wins, if it is something I personally don't want I give to friends or use for presents. I enter mostly all instant wins and enter mostly late nights. And I always thank God. Now before someone gets upset and informs me God has better things to do then win sweepstakes for me, I know this, I said I thank God as I do for all the good in my life. I am not sitting around praying to win. But if you want to ok by me. Anyway sometimes there is more to someone winning a contest then just winning a contest. live and let live and Good luck.

I keep reading the motto "enter it and forget it" and I think that's true, then you'll be surprised when things start happening (and they will)

I also only enter for things I really want, and can use (for example, though my dream in life is to be able to see the whole world, I only enter for trips that are for families because I know that if I won a trip for two, we'd need to figure out babysitting). I tend to enter maybe 100 per day, and I don't spend more than two hours on it--usually it's one. I found in the beginning that I entered more, and I burnt myself out.

I don't use Roboform, and can still get them done quickly--I love the instants, because there's always that chance of instant gratification. And though I tell myself all the time not to enter voting contests, I find myself doing that, too. Those are interesting because it's something you put out there. I love entering the "skill" contests, too, where you have to submit a recipe or essay or something, and there is just a panel of judges. It's rewarding to win those (I won a trip to Belmont Park that way).

So find the things you like, and enter those--and don't sweat it if you don't get to them all every day. They will still be there the next....

Most of all--keep your chin up--this is supposed to be fun!
Even though I know it gets not too fun when you're not winning.....

Good luck!

I understand how you feel, because im feeling the same way.Im not seeing many people win lately including me.I play hard all day with these sweeps and Im not winning much either, nothing big this year, just little things. But I keep telling my self that some day im going to hit it big, because I could use it now.

I see a couple of people have recommended Roboform. What is it and how do I get it? I enter about 60 contests a day online. So for, none for travel, but I plan to apply for a visa soon, and then I will try some of the travel ones.

A few years ago, I won a washer and dryer, other than that I have only won little things, but I think my day is coming! Anyway, entering online is cheaper than buying lottery tickets or gambling at a casino!

Where is the whiner wall, how do you find it. I appreciate so much, everyone taking your time to give me tips thank you. I use robo form, and enter at least 300 sweeps per day. I try not to enter any that I cant use, or want. I dont know what the voting is...how do I do that. I cant figure out twitter or blogs... do you know where I can learn......again thanks.......Debbie

debraannd,

There is a lot you can learn which will make sweeping enjoyable and will also make it easier.

If you haven't already browsed the SA Forum for topics that interest you, you may want to look around.

One very good place to start is the Newbie thread. There are expert tips, questions that are frequently asked, good answers...Here's the link:

There is a lot to learn and you don't have to do it all right away. (I happened to mention the voting forum because it was on my mind. You may have noticed that there are some contests that require a photo or essay, and then winners may be selected by the number of votes they receive. If you are interested in helping out fellow members by voting, here is where you can find Referral and Vote Requests by SA members: http://www.sweepsadvantage.com/smf/referral-and-vote-requests-b8.0/)

Hope this info is helpful. :)

:sunny: Here's the twitter sign up link
https://twitter.com/signup
Super easy. 140 characters to tell people what you are doing. Some sweeps are only good for Twitterers, so, even if you only use it for that, it's worth the five (or less) minutes it will take you to sign up.
Blogs take a little longer to enter than "regular" sweeps. But, a lot less people enter them, so they are easier to win. Usually, the blog owner wants you to go to the sponsor's website, check out their products, then come back & post a comment about what you liked/learned. Book blogs usually have you leave just leave a comment or question for the author. Takes me about Three minutes to enter a blog giveaway.
If you decide you want to enter blog giveaways, you will either have to leave your email in the comments and/or have a blog of your own with your email available in your profile. I use Google. Again, super easy to set up; I'm technologically challenged & I figured it out. (Google basically talks you through it)
Sending lucky thoughts your way.
