how odd is this?

My husband won the grand prize hell of a ride sweepstakes, which was the full size motorcycle movie prop, a comic book, and swag.
That was back in March. The only thing he has recieved is the comic book. We contacted the company that does the promotions and they contacted us back after getting with the company that sponsored it. They said that the bike is on tour right now, and after its done we will be getting it.
Doesn't that strike you as odd? Why raffle something off before they are done using it? strange to me. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Hell of a Ride Sweepstakes , is what I typed in for a search when I went back to look at the site, but the rules are blocked now. Maybe it said something about that, you know how that is, when you are filling out a bunch of sweeps you dont remember everything bout it.

It is not weird but a miscommunication or someone is lying or stalling for time.

You need to contact the sponsor (IGN) and explain the problems in receiving the prizes. Be nice. If that does not work then go to Sony who does Ghost Rider, or what ever the company is. Complain to them. If that does not work then contact the state agencies.l

Maybe they will do this;
If a prize cannot be awarded due to circumstances beyond the control of Sponsor, a substitute prize of equal or greater retail value may be awarded;
maybe you will be offered a check for $3,765
One (1) Ghost Rider Custom Prop (does not run) Motorcycle (Approximate retail value “ARV” $3,765.00)

If the prize is a customized piece, it may well be touring. I heard about a lady who won a customized car and had to wait a year until it came off tour.

Stinks to wait...But you know what they say about good things coming to those who wait...but it still stinks...

Congrats on the win!

I've heard of sweeps doing this....Pepsi customized cars are one that comes to mind. It's odd but you are getting a prop....Unfortunately you are always at the sponsor's judgment of how you get your prize, when you get it and what you get (if for some reason something becomes "unavailable") I've even noticed some sweeps including disclamers that basically say if the prize becomes "unavailable" they don't have to award it at all!
