How much time do you spend entering sweeps/contests?

Since I'm so new with this - I read an article saying that some people are addicted and spend up to 20 hours a week (roughly
3 hours a day) entering contests.

Is that average or exaggeration?
Just curious!

Rae....

No, it is not an exaggeration

Sweeping is "addictive," but it is a good addiction!!! And some of the time, we really do win...my husband and I went to Paris in September 2007 on a trip win (7 days/6 nights, airfare and hotels included!!!).

Sweeping is a hobby, really, and I spend 2 or 3 hours a day entering contests. And, I love it - especially here at Sweepstakes Advantage. There are some really good people here and the administrators are great :headbang:

So, welcome aboard and good luck to you. :sunny:

Addiction, addiction, addiction!!!! But, there are worse addictions, so it should be ok :)

Yes, people really do spend 2-3 hours a day sweeping. I'm one of them. I know that one day I will win something totally awesome. It's my hobby or my employment - one or the other. I figure if you enjoy it - and get something out of it, then go for it. I love it - too much fun!!!!

If you want to win, you got to enter. Can't just enter a few here and there and think you are going to win, it's not that easy. I focus mainly on the instant win games and then move on to other sweeps. It's a BIG addiction!

Good luck and welcome!

Tooooo much ... ... ... but it's either sweeps or heroin.

(actually: about 35hr/week. And I'm selective) (I also won a trip, to Australia, after 6 months. But I was VERY lucky. see "trips" threads)

I'm about to give up on the IW's and enter everything else!!! :cussing: - but that's because I'm in the CWI club!

I'm gonna win big soon though - I just know it!!!!! :sunny:

I'm w/ loren though - probably 35 hours a week... a LOT of time!

 Welcome to SA rae! If you haven't done so already be sure to set up an automatic form filler like Roboform. It will save you so much time. What do I do with all that extra time I get from using Roboform, enter more sweeps of course!! Also be sure to check out the Newbie thread for lots of helpful tips on sweeping. We all look forward to seeing you post a win soon!! Good Luck!

Hi Rae! (Thats my middle name)

I have been sweeping here and there for about a year and it didn't get me anywhere until I joined SA. No wonder it was so hard without this website. This site makes everything very very easy. No brain damage :) I work from home and I am on this website all day! I have been consistantly sweeping for about a little over a month (I am a newbie too). And I have won a $500 dress, a $150 Wallet, and $45 Face Cream. You have to keep at it. What I did when starting on the site is downloaded Roboform, start with the one time sweeps (sort by Experation in Asending Order) until you are caught up. Once you have entered those, then go to the dailies and instants (You do those everyday!!!) And then enter the new sweeps everyday too. Whew! Its a lot of time and effort and that takes about 2-3 hours. But if you do a little here and a little there through out the day I don't fin it as bad. ***GOODLUCK*** Don't give up!

I spend about 3 hours a day. Then again, I am an insomniac, so it helps kill some time. :headbang:

I spend about 3 to 4 hours per day entering; and, no, I'm not addicted. I do this because it's just as fun to me as a hobby, and I get a good return from doing it. I can easily leave it behind when I go out for the day or on vacations, and I don't go into withdrawals because of it!

Thanks to robo pro I dont spend as much time sweeping as I used to. hanging out in the forums though is another matter :crazytongue:
I spend about 2-3 hrs sweeping but I pop in here allll day long.

2-3 hours is about right. You could justify it in your mind figuring you're giving up some TV time. Nobody questions those who spend several hours watching TV, but sweeping is something interactive that brings prizes (and you can have the TV on just the same while sweeping).

I spend about two hours a day, once you get caught up on all the sweeps it is pretty easy just to have a methodical system. I also categorize my daily entries on roboform into "big prizes" "trips" and "wanted" so that if I am short on time a day, I can just do those and skip all littler ones that would be nice, but not dying for them. One or two days a week I end up skipping those that aren't in my priority folders.

ETA: I watch TV while doing them, BBAD from the night before usually. Just put it on and kinda watch and go through my sweeps at the same time, since both are pretty mindless activities!

Well for me this is about my 4th yearentering sweeps. Every year I get more involved. Now at this point I am spending 2 hours a day entering sweeps. And then some by visiting forums like this. I would guess an average week about close to 20 hours. I don't enter every contest just everyone I have intrest in. I have won lots of things too many to mention. Everything from cash, gift cards, food, clothes, vacations. But my biggest so far was a Miller Lite trip to Las Vegas for the SuperBowl what a trip that was. Good Luck yo ya'll !!

If it wasn't for the insomnia and the big win - I wouldn't be doing this at all....so obviously, it is fated!
I'm not a TV watcher and to me, this is entertainment!!
I don't see it as an addiction and thought that was a bit harsh - now to watch TV or play internet or gamebox games...that could be an addiction!!
As long as a person has balance in their life - enjoy it!!

Thanks to all who replied - glad to know I'm in good company!!
