Honest? How accurate do you have to be?

I have a question about honesty/accuracy. I haven't been sweeping for that long, but I use a nick name on entries and don't put my real birth day. I had my first "big" win and had to do an affy and was really wondering if I would get the $$ at all because of it. Now I've started being more accurate just in case I win something really big like the dream house (ha ha). I would hate not to be able to get the prize because of a minor fib. Has anyone ever run into this problem? Do you think it's ok to use a fake b-day? Thanks for the help

I would use my real birthday...if you won something really big, they COULD disqualify you, I would think for putting a wrong birthdate. If it was some other small typo, I think they'd let it slide, but I sure wouldn't want to take a chance on missing out on something big. After all, you put so much time and effort into entering sweeps, you might as well put all of the right info in, just in case :)

I like to fib on my phone #. I will switch up the last two digits of my phone # but only on those sweeps that say they will contact winners by email and/or phone. If the rules say they will be contacting by phone and no mention of email, I use my correct phone #.

I don't do this all of the time...just on certain sweeps...and have been shying away from doing it lately. I've been paranoid I'll win something big like a huge TV and they won't be able to contact me by phone and won't try to contact me by email.

i'm honest and accurate about my entries. When ever there is one that wants my cell phone. I just don't enter that one. Because I had entered one sweeps and gave them my cell. I started getting a ton of text messages. It cost alot. Luckily I was able to stop them.

When you enter a sweepstakes, you are agreeing to the rules which usually state that the information you are submitting is accurate. Therefore, if you ever do fill out affidavit with different information than what you submitted on the entry form, they can choose to disqualify you.

I wouldn't be concerned about submitting a birthdate, telephone number, etc., because anyone can find that information very easily. That type of information even comes up on the free portion of an online background check.

I use true info on everything. If it's a sweep that I know might call me for sales calls I give my home phone number, others get my cell. Once in awhile I give all 1's for a phone number depending on who the sponsor is.

why would you want to lie about things like your birthday?

I doubt sponsors would be like "eww this lady to too old for this prize, lets choose another"

I am honest about everything because by chance (crosses fingers) i win big i dont want something stupid like a phone number to get in the way of thousands of dollars or a trip to London.

Im not a hardcore sweeper, but i have entered hundreds of sweeps giving out my number and havent received spam phone calls because of it.

I do however, only give out the required information and nothing else. Pluse i make sure to check or uncheck the box that says i want to be contacted for other promotions, etc.
