Hello SA! I'm Becky from San Antonio. I started sweeping just a few weeks ago and I'm having fun dreaming of all the great prizes I'm going to win -- especially travel!
I actually did a little sweeping a few years ago and won a $500 gift card to Bed and Breakfast . com. That was fun! We used the credit to stay in a B&B in Napa Valley during a great vacation to California. But then, I got sidetracked by other things and stopped sweeping before I really even got into it.
Then, several months ago, I happened to enter a random contest by Longhorn Steak House and won "free steak for a year" in the form of a coupon for a free steak dinner each month for 12 months. So far, I've enjoyed three free steaks! The downside is that I take my family to the restaurant with me every time I go to redeem my monthly coupon, so my prize is costing me! LOL But we like to eat out occasionally, and I love steak. So our eating out treat is just going to be Longhorn Steakhouse for the next few months!
Just a few weeks ago, I rejoined SA and started entering sweepstakes in earnest. A couple of weeks ago, I won a $25 VISA gift card (still waiting to receive it), and then last night I won a $25 gift code to NBA.com in the Kevin Durant for a Day contest. Yay!!!
So I have a few questions. First of all, I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I am not a big sports fan, and the NBA gift code is not especially useful to me. (Plus, I tend to be pretty frugal, and their prices are high!!) So, I know this question has probably been asked before, can you steer me toward answers -- how do you deal with prizes that you can't really use? I thought about selling my $25 NBA gift code for $20 on eBay. Do you ever do that? I'm not even sure if the code would cover shipping charges. So I don't want to order some item that I don't even need, and then have to pay shipping charges Any suggestions?
Another question relates to daily entry sweeps. I have noticed that it is not uncommon for sweeps to tell me that I have already entered for that day -- when I am quite positive that I have not entered within the last calendar day or 24 hours (including allowing for time zone differences).
