till I forgot my password and wasn't able to retrieve it.

So it's been a while since I've come back to sweeps staking, it seems that now I am an Alzheimer's caregiver & now have a skosh more time to devote to sweep staking hobby wise and I caved-in and signed up for the 6month membership with SA (which prompted me to start a new profile from scratch since I forgot all my previous password on my old account.

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello, and its nice to be back in the SA family.

And while I'm here I got a quick question, its been a very long while since I've entered any sweepstakes and I was wondering has one entry sweepstaking mode died ever since the birth of the wretched FB sweepstakes? I ask because I refuse to get FB or a twitter account because I prefer tossing in my entry through email.

I am finding less and less one entry type sweepstakes & even the expiring soon section has even less one entry type sweepstakes and it is really depressing me about entering ANY sweepstakes because even the instant wins & daily sweepstakes don't garner me any wins with my luck that is.

Any thoughts?? Any strategies?

Welcome back!

Here are some thoughts - just start out fresh, working with the reduced number of one-entries, since you are not counting FB etc. Think positively, enter the one entries that you like. But don't skip daily or IWs entirely. Again, be selective and persistent. Even if you don't enter as many as in the old days, choose the ones that are best for you, and enter them regularly. Don't worry about what other people do, or what you used to do.

Finally, use the custom categories on Plus to your best advantage. My personal favorites are categories I call "Short List" (dailies I want to enter every day, even if I am too busy for all the dailies on my list), "Daily Prize" (for daily sweeps that give a prize a day - better than only one prize at the end of the sweeps), and "24" (for sweeps that must be listed as Daily per the rules, but only let you enter once every 24 hours).

Remember all those old bits of advice - be patience, persistent, consistent - enter, and if you don't win, be happy for those who do. Those things haven't changed.

I wish you good luck with being a care-taker. My aunt took care of a family friend wtih Alzheimers, so I know that can be extremely stressful.

I don't want to repeat anything at arrtup3 said, but I will add in my own two cents.

While more and more sweeps are taking a turn towards fb, twitter, instagram, pinterest and etc there are still plenty of sweeps that only need your email addy so don't feel discouraged because there are fewer sweeps cuz you can still win. What about weekly entries or monthly entries? How do you feel about text message sweepstakes? I also think local sweepstakes can be great b/c they often don't require fb/or twitter and lots of times (but not always) they are one and done! Check the websites of your local radio stations and tv stations. Check the websites of local online magazines. Check the website of your local malls (especially around the holiday time).....I've had some great smaller wins from local sweeps and I did not need fb/twitter to enter.
