Help with a win on sweeps "Sony HD Experience Sweepstakes"

I recently won 4 printable tickets to the movies from the above named sweeps. I tried to use the tix last night, but was told they were invalid. I just printed them that day, and went to a theater that was on their list of theaters. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do?

Re: Help with a win on sweeps "Sony HD Experience Sweepstakes"

were they fandango movie ticket? Did it say "no passes" next to the name of the movie?

Re: Help with a win on sweeps "Sony HD Experience Sweepstakes"

The "no passes" refers to something else. I remember asking them about it at the theater one time. The "Movie Cash", "Fandango", etc., tickets are good to go for any movie. So, that couldn't be it unless it was one of those idiot kids that has the comprehension level of an ant!

What reason did they give you that made them "invalid"?

We asked at our local movie theatre & they said that no passes also applied for Fandango tickets. They said otherwise they have to wait weeks for their money from Fandango and that they aren't "full price" tickets (not true). However, our movie people have about the comprehension level of an ant - maybe lower.. :crazytongue:

My guess is that they don't know what they are talking about, because many theaters have Fandango machines where you can just print up your movie ticket right there. We've used many Fandango and Movie Cash tickets all over the place and never had them refused even on the "no pass" movies. The first time I had one of these, I didn't understand want they meant by "no pass". So, I asked and was told that that was for something different. I guess brains is no longer a job requirement.

Re: Help with a win on sweeps "Sony HD Experience Sweepstakes"

maybe it depends on the theatre. We have a small theatre. My movie passes expired because the Fandango site for our local theatre was down on the last day. We called Fandangp & got an e-mail address to contact to possibly extend the date. I was very disappointed because I had planned a date night. :cussing:

Those are the ones I was calling "Movie Cash"; same thing, but "Movie Cash" is mailed to you and "e-Movie Cash" you print up. They're valid for up to $12.00 and handled as regular tickets. If that's what the OP has, here's some FAQ:

Re: Help with a win on sweeps "Sony HD Experience Sweepstakes"

Yes, these are "ecash" movie tickets. The girl at the theater just kept punching in the codes and kept saying that the codes were coming up invalid. There is a phone number on the email I will call today to see if I can find out anything. I will post any findings here to let anyone else know of possible problems/solutions. Thanks for all your help!

Re: Help with a win on sweeps "Sony HD Experience Sweepstakes"

OK, got an answer so if anyone else has this problem, here it is. The theater was trying to ring up 2 tickets, at a total cost of $20.00, under one code which is only good up to $12.00. If you use these, you need to have the person ring each sale up separately.
Thanks again for all your help.

Re: Help with a win on sweeps "Sony HD Experience Sweepstakes"

 You'd think that would have been obvious. Jeez, even my three-year-old has more brains and common sense than that. This is why I dread dealing with anyone behind a cash register these days!
