HELP - NORTON

Help - I downloaded Norton and now I cannot access all of the sweeps - plus the worst part is that my status bar disappears - if it comes back everything is in a different order - but it hardly ever comes back and also there are no icons on the desktop - I want my computer back - I want to enter the sweeps - HELP HELP HELP

I would do a system restore and download avg free @ download.com or any of the freeware sites.

I run Norton, but I've never heard of it doing any of that. Have you checked the settings on it? :scratch:

What OS are you using? Vista isn't compatible with Norton if that's what you're using.

I'm not using vista - i do not like vista - how do I check the settings????

You have to right click on the Norton Anti-Virus icon at the bottom in your task bar. Then go into options.

I had a hard time getting Norton set right for sweeping. I switched anti virus and am much happier and have had no virus problems.

Another possibility is that a virus/trojan rode on in with the download. I had bunch come in with an HP update not too long ago. I had another problem that occasionally shut off Norton, and it got it then. That would also explain your computer freaking. There are free scans available just to check.
