Have your winnings decreased in the last few months?

I was thinking about the recession and all the unemployment. If those unemployed folks have started sweeping, wouldn't that make it harder for someone to win? Just wondered if some of you guys had noticed a downturn in winnings since unemployment went up.

No, there haven't been any decreases for me. I don't particularly think that unemployment increases the number of people sweeping. These people have to spend their time trying to find work and make money with whatever means possible. Also, many will find that they will have to eliminate unnecessary expenses such as internet service. I know of a couple here who have cancelled their internet service due to unemployment.

I haven't really noticed less wins either. I totally agree that people that are unemployed are canceling services that they can live without.

I began to notice a decrease last Sep. Had I not won some dailys July would've been my worst month on record.

They've dropped a ton for me! I used to win a LOT more than I do now. I'm just hoping it'll pick up soon

I would agree with you a ton, and I would take it further to say that the quality of the wins available have decreased drastically over the last year as well. It's almost getting to the point that the time is not worth the reward.

It's weird that some of us have seen a huge drop in wins and then some don't seem to see any difference. It makes me wonder if we are on the same planet :) I myself have pretty much quit entering due to the fact that 1) the wins just aren't coming like they used to (spoiled I know) and most importantly is reason #2) my job. I simply don't have the time to put into it like I used to. When I also consider that I am just not winning,,,,,,it's a no brainer. I enter the few that have trips I would really like to win for my family and other than that I just check out a couple of threads in the forum and I'm back to work!

I think it may also have to do with how many a person is entering and what kind of sweepstakes they are entering. Some people just enter for big prizes only. I enter a lot each day but only for what we want or need. So, I'm entering for small to huge prizes and everything in between. We do win a lot of gift cards which is one of my favorite prizes.

This year has been quite slow, although my wins picked up dramatically in July and have been continuing in August.

I enter for a lot of the smaller prizes (enter about 700 sweeps a day) and haven't won much of anything so that theory doesn't hold up ... I guess I'm holding out for a biggy! :headbang:

I don't think it has anything to do with the unemployment rate.

I won alot more years ago. the past 2 years has been much less. I also notice the amount of prizes they are giving away is alot less. A good example was the V8 Splash contest 2 years ago, I won alot on that contest. They gave away a ton of prizes. and the Gatorade contest , I won alot on that one too! The Superman contest from Quaker, that was a great one too.

Teeshirts might not sound like much of a win, but when Christmas time rolls around they make a great stocking stuffer.

Now adays, if I win once , I'm thrilled that I was able to win , cause now they are just giving away a few first prizes, a couple of hundred second prizes. It's hard to win when there aren't that many prizes being giving away. the odds of winning go down with less prizes being given away.

The new Honey Nut Cheerio contest is a great one, they are giving away alot, but, I don't see as many winning posts as I thought I'd see with them giving away so many prizes and every 10 minutes, I thought I'd see alot more.

I still haven't won a trip. I'm waiting and got my fingers crossed for a trip.

All together, I'm probably entering in the range of 1,000 each day; and, no, I'm not on the computer all day! :crazytongue: I got this system down packed! I'm averaging about one prize per 700+ entries. I still have gift cards I haven't gotten around to using and somehow accidentally deleted my contest wins file with all my prize redemption codes I haven't used yet--including a bunch of movie ticket codes and a $200 gift code! :error:

I also believe that God factors into this! :headbang:

Definitely, God factors into it. And then there is just "That person is soooo lucky." When your lucky , your lucky.

I notice I go through boughts. I will win a couple of things, and then nothing for awhile, and then the wins just roll around again.

I go through boughts. I get almost alittle sad when I don't win. It's amazing how a teeshirt or a coupon can make you smile.

This has been a REALLY SLOW year for me. I think more and more people are sweeping because of the economy. You'd think they would be looking for jobs but there's no jobs to look for.

Greetings all,

I started sweeping about five weeks ago, and got seven small prizes all together (2 t-shirts, 2 jars of Pace Salsa, a harmonica, a beer bottle opener, an inflatable boat). Would you consider that below average, above average or pretty much even? (Now I'm hunkering down for only the big, juicy ones by (re)entering about 40 a day.) Any input or advice would be appreciated.............Greg

PS. Go Cubs!

If you just started sweeping 5 weeks ago, I consider that well above good. 7 prizes in 5 weeks is an awesome number. Keep sweeping. Congratulations! I'm wishing you many more wins.

Thanks Thumbelina for the encouragement. I too wish you the very best in all your sweeps.
