Supposedly in Florida 954-719-4093. Came across as "PRIVATE NAME". He said he has $1000 in gift certs for me and needed some info. 1. Marriage Status, 2. Occupation, 3. Age, 4. What credit card do I use most. I said I was Married, Both Retired, born in 82, and don't use credit cards. I definitely did no divulge truthful info and, after my answers he said something about me not being eligible and hastily hung up. I mean c'mon retired and born in 82', I WISH!

I haven't had telemarketer calls in a long time, I've signed up for do not call and am wondering if anyone knows how they are able to do this, or if you've heard of this "company", your input would be greatly appreciated. :cussing

You have to re-register for the do-not-call list every few years, I'm not sure of the exact number of years tho.

As for the Do Not Call list, I found out recently that if you "do business" in any form with their company, then that overrides the Do Not Call restriction. So, if you fill out a sweepstakes entry, that now gives them the right to call you. I complained about several calls received, got a letter back from the state's Attorney General's office informing me that the companies did not break the law because I initiated contact with them by filling out a form -- a sweepstakes entry -- on their website.

Also, registering with do-not-call registries does not stop scam calls. It will only stop certain calls from legitimate businesses such as telemarketing calls, etc. Scammers like the Jamaican dudes down in Kingston, Jamaica are not effected by it and will continue to call people up with the premise that they won a prize but must sent money first. :nono:
