Going to Paris

liz,

My husband and I went on a trip to Paris last September (Sept. 19) and we just LOVED it :sunny: September is the time to go - I won the trip in January 2007; we couldn't go in spring because of my husband's job, and we didn't want to go in the summer with all the other tourists (and their children). So, we settled on the middle of September, and it was glorious! Not too hot - the average temperature was in the 70s - and not too cold - it went down to 55 - 60 degrees fahrenheit (sp?) at night. So, we took coats and sweaters. It was the trip of a lifetime :sunny:

Be careful about the plane - American Airlines now charges for checked bags, and I think United does, too. Are you in New York? Virgin Airline doesn't charge for checked bags, I think.

Do you have your passport yet? If you don't, get one. It takes about 11 or 12 weeks, I think. Go to http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

Congratulations - I hope your trip is as excellent as ours was :headbang:

Thank you Kate. We're planing on going in spring. Our Anniversarry in in Feb. but it will be too cold then.

Congratulations.
What a wonderful win.
I can wait for my first trip win.

wow thats so cool paris in the spring. you will have a great time Paris is very user friendly the metro is great. If you can find a book called "tripbuilders Paris" it has a very good metro map and a good points of interest map. Its very lightweight. Also, American Airlines does not charge for baggage on international flights as stated below. But of course you will have to see what is closest and most convenient to you. The eiffel tower is best in late afternoon early evening. When they turn on the lights on the eiffel tower at night it is break taking. You can also take a train from paris to either Disney paris which I loved and the palace of Versailles where louis the IV and marie antointe lived. Anyways, You will have an awsome time in paris. Congrats, Im jealous :sunny:
