Giving prizes as Christmas Gifts?

I do it. I don't see anything wrong with it especially if it's something they can use. My father in law was super happy with the fishing poles I won last year, and my nephew was thrilled with the Coors lite vending machine for his college apartment.
griffin72 - Spending $$$ you earned [your time spent] on a present vs your time spent on winning a prize you give as a present? I don't see the difference - you weren't just given something & trying to regift!
What are your thoughts on giving prizes as Christmas Gifts?
Especially if Real Money is tight.

This is the only way I can give presents to my family,I live on SSI and dont have money for presents. My time doing a hobby is important to me.
