Giant Giveaways

 I just recieved an unknown call from "Chaska", which is a town in MN. They originally identified themselves a' "Viking". As the rules stated, I gave them permission to call me. But they verified who I was let me know I had won a Mac air book & that they would email me shortly. Within 5 minutes I got the email from Vikingmagazine.com inviting me to enter. It didn't disclose "my winnings", but an invitation to win on another site. And during the call they wanted to know my age & if I had credit card information for them to obtain"

this closes 12/31/12, read the rules but i would'nt give any more personal info. maybe a third party participation required company.

I get these same calls they ask if i have a credit card or bank card its a scam i always tell them no before they have a chance to tell me and then they usually hang up on me. good luck to you but you shouldnt need a credit card to win anything.

This doesn't sound legit to me. I've never had a sponsor ask for credit card information. Ask yourself why would they ask for information like that. A rule of thumb as a sweeper you never pay for anything no shipping and handling only thing you would ever pay is taxes. I would investigate further,

Still waiting for the email they promised with the link to collect my winnings. I thought they would have emailed it right away, especially after attempting to get info from me! :cussing: This one is definately a hoax and is located in the "one time entry". :cussing:

So if you enter you agree to some kind of marketing text or phone call, but it sounds like it turned out to be an attempt to get information from people.

Also notice that there is a messy definition of "continental US"! :nono:

Here's a similar thread from Questions and Answers:

I was called today from a sweepstakes that ends in a few days they said they just wanted to verify my phone number and they do that with some of the applications. Then the guy said he would be the one who calls on Monday and good luck.
He told me what sweepstakes it is and all about the sweep stake I didn't remember entering.

Has this happened to anyone else?
