Firefox Performance Slow?

Firefox and Adobe have been going back and forth with whether Firefox still wants to allow the Adobe Flash plugin due to security reasons. Adobe recently patched it's Flash program but it seems like the recent patch is causing performance issues in Firefox. If you are using Firefox with the latest Flash plugin and are experiencing performance problems please try disabling the plugin in Firefox.

From the Firefox Toolbar, go to Tools, then Add-Ons. Then set Adobe Flash to Never Activate.

It seemed to increase my cpu performance by at least 40%.

I don't have an Adobe Flash plugin shown in Firefox. I have Shockwave Flash 18.0.0.209. Is that the one you mean?

I have an occasional problem with a Firefox plugin crash. I've never tried to determine which plugin has crashed. Firefox says to refresh the page to correct the crash, which I do and the problem is solved.

It could be. If you type about:crashes in the Firefox address field you can find out what one is causing the crash.

You may want to go into the windows control panel and uninstall flash completely. It is no longer required by Firefox and since I uninstalled it Firefox seems to run much faster.
