Fate

Do you believe in fate? Have you ever felt that certain things have happened in your life in order to give you an opportunity to do something?

I'm not religious or anything, but certain things have happened that make me feel this way. I suppose it could be my own spin on things, as another person could look at the same circumstances in tragic terms.

fate intails that you are destined for something and cannot change it, so my 2 cents is that, whatever situation you are in the outcome is how you handle it, at that time, meaning your destiny is in your hands and you have the choice to go down any number of roads that come along. So if you want to be mad that is a choice that you decide if happy that is how you choose what type of person you are and how life will be for you and it is different for every one. :sunny: so live life so that you control how your own destiny reveals itself :sunny:

I believe that everything happens for a reason and without being to0‘polly-anne’ if you try hard enough you can almost always get something good from a bad situation. I also believe that negative people reap a negative life.

I try to enjoy every moment I have and find the good in everyone I meet. Not always the easiest path, but, for me, it has been most rewarding.

Great post and I agree because the choices we make in any situation can affect the outcome. :sunny: Now of course I am religious so I also think that plays a role in it for me. :) No matter what a person believes I do think things happen for a reason and it is up to us to decide if we want to listen to that gut feeling or whatever we call it and react.

Speaking of which... I had a very fateful morning. I went to pick up something in my neighborhood, then waited at a stop sign right to turn into a main road. Two cars collided and missed me by a few feet. Even the fender and other stuff flying off the cars missed me. One of them was an SUV that collided into a scaffolding and the people inside had to be pried out. The four guys in the sports car were ok, but their front end and side was totaled.

As I sat there at the stop sign in my little car with my mouth open.

I don't necessarily believe in fate. I do believe that our futures are not set in stone...that they can be changed as we move forward in life. That is why the future is never certain. Everything we do has the potential to change our future at any given point.

An example of this would be the following: say, you are driving down a road and you approach an intersection. As you drive through the intersection, a car comes from nowhere and slams into the side of your car, causing vehicle damage and personal injury. Sometimes we do things without thinking about them, so this action changes the future that was going to be (injuries, vehicle damage). So, instead of driving through the intersection you decide, without thinking, to pull over to the side of the road for some reason. Know what I mean? By pulling over, you changed your future...because the car that was supposed to hit you doesn't...and may, instead, hit someone else. Or else, the car passes through that intersection without hurting anyone.
