:sunny: hon, I stockpile ALL my amazon wins as they come in. So as long as u have the e code u go to your amazon acct. and click "my acct" and scroll down a few sections to the check my e card balance.... then find "ADD a e card..." something like that... click there... u will then need to sign in & enter password, then it will take u to the place to enter that long digit e card # and the total goes immediately into any running totals u have. U DO NOT NEED TO BE BUYING NOW. If u don't have anything in the acct. now I believe that makes no difference. u can still add it to the acct. & not have to buy anything. I have a tally of like $70.00 all accumulated w/small wins here and there and only spend occassionally for gifts etc. Hope this helped ya. Also when I shop at Target.com, I am given the option of using the $ in my amazon.acct too. Go figure that one. So u can use the amazon at target as well.
