Ever sell your prize (big ticket item, car)

Just curious as to how many winners have elected to sell their prize to either the car dealership or a private person (if a big ticket item other than vehicle).

If you did, how did it go for you?

Thanks!
Rae

I didn't sell to the dealership because, they wanted me to pay the licensing, all taxes, etc. and only give me $16,000 after all was said and done. Another dealership offered me $20k but, I wound up selling it to my mom for $21k but, I owed her almost $10k since we were paying a loan dh got for truck driving school and then a loan for the taxes to pick the car up. She got a great car for about $11k and I got from under 2 of our debts from her and still did some other things. I had won a mini cooper convertible from Dr.pepper in 2005, the ARV was around $25,000.

I still kick myself for selling the car though, I really should have kept it but, you live and learn right? I am dreaming about another car win, if I was to sell another one I would purchase a cheaper new vehicle and pay some more debts. I reallllllly need a new car.

Did you win? If yes, congrats!!

Is this the win you are thinking of selling?

My first win was also the first time I ever entered a sweepstakes - I won the Grand Prize (2008 Dodge Grand Caravan ($38,000) and a $15,000 check - total value of $53,000) in the ABC Family's 25 Days of Christmas Sweepstakes 2007.

This week I also won the Visit Indiana Grand Prize of $1800 in overnight stays and attraction admissions!

I started out as an insomniac!
Now I'm an addict!

The "game" is on!

WOWSA - a Goldfish wallet was my 1st win  :crazytongue:

Yes, I won the Dodge Caravan and yes, I definitely want to sell it.
We already have two vehicles.

thanks for the replies!!
