Last night I tried to enter a MTN Dew Contest--the prize being a job as a ranger and an ATV. I went to the official rules to read the requirements since there were written components that were judged. In the "How to Enter" section, the rules stated that all entries must be received by 11:59pm CT on 1/14/2022. However, when I submitted my entry at 11:32pm CT I received a message saying that the sweepstakes was closed. I went back into the rules to check that I'd read it correctly, and I did. However, in the beginning the rules state that the promotion period is through 11:59pm EST. Their Facebook posts related to the contest don't state a time zone at all. What recourse, if any, would someone have that wanted to enter this contest but wasn't able to. I sent messages alerting the contest sponsor to the error well before the deadline. I spent half of my day coming up with responses to the questions, so I'm pretty upset that I wasn't able to enter because they made a typo in their rules. It's extremely unprofessional for a company like MTN Dew. Please advise. Is there an organization that regulates sweepstakes that I can complain to?
