eprize?

I go back and forth between sites occasionally and another site had a post about how they believe eprize has dq'd people for entering from a sweepstakes site. Several members have said they have believed to have been blacklisted for entering and also having spouse, kid or whoever enter even when rules say per email address NOT Household. I enter and occasionally my husband will too, now I'm kind of weary. I have won from eprize but not recently anyways just inquiring what others takes are on this? Sorry if this is something that has been posted previously I'm not entirely sure how to find old posts on the subject
Thanks!

No, that's not what their blacklisting is. They blacklist those who they find trying to cheat by violating the rules. They have responded to email inquiries before about entering for other family members when the rules state that it's one per person not per household, and they responded that it's perfectly fine. I've never seen anyone blacklisted for entering through a sweepstakes site as long as it's a sweepstakes automated service.

I think LDS meant to say "As long as it's NOT a sweepstakes automate service". For those of you that don't know there are some sweep sites where you pay to have them automatically enter you in sweeps.

Several years ago, eprize cracked down on people who were entering more than once per computer. What they were trying to do was to crack down on the people who enter 15 times a day using different variations of their names and different e-mail addresses. This went very wrong and many people we dq'd because they and their spouse entered from the same computer. Also, people who entered from libraries and other public venues were also running into problems. It took a while for eprize to straighten out the mess.

I think the reason people say they dq you if you enter from a sweeps site is because the people that were hit in the fiasco were sweepers. Aside from people entering from sweeps sites, how many people would be dq'd in such a crackdown. So, yes, it's because they entered through a sweeps site that they had problems, but it was not because of the fact that they entered through a sweeps site that they were dq'd. It is OK to enter from a sweeps site as long as you follow the rules.

I hope this makes sense. :)

It doesn't appear that it violates the rules if another person in the household enters from the same computer, but they have to have their own assigned email account. I think your best bet is to use regular ISP email accounts on these and not "free" email accounts. I know that some sweepstakes don't accept entries from some of them, because the free emails are what people use to get multiple entries. If they have to pay for each email account, they probably couldn't afford to cheat. This is what eprize has for that part of their rules:

Each participant may enter one (1) time per day, regardless of method of entry, during the Promotion Period. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Any attempt by any entrant to obtain more than one (1) entry per day by using multiple/different email addresses, physical addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods will void that entrant's entries and that entrant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the email address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant or player. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
