PLEASANT RIDGE, Mich., March 28 /PRNewswire/ -- ePrize, a global
interactive promotion agency, today launched a system to dramatically reduce
the mounting costs of fraudulent entries in online promotions. The platform,
called Promotion S.A.F.E.(TM), will thwart malicious or mischievous attempts
to enter a promotional sweepstakes, game, points-based rewards, loyalty
programs, sales incentive programs or other contests prior to and at the point
where consumers register.
According to CyberSource, in 2004, fraudulent online practices of all
types cost merchants $2.6 billion. Promotions are typically hit by online
scammers who register multiple participants from a single source, use
automated "bots" to create a flood of ineligible entries, and submit false
information, such as a bogus address. Promotion S.A.F.E. is a detailed
screening tactic that filters out individuals who attempt to enter a promotion
or sweepstakes unfairly, blocking "rule-breakers" to ensure promotions are
fair for all consumers who participate. These practices can dramatically clog
or even disable online promotions costing companies hundreds of thousands of
dollars.

interesting...i wonder if they'll tell you if you've been blacklisted or if they'll let you just keep entering. Come to think of it I haven't won from them in awhile....

I wonder when it says, "Promotions are typically hit by online
scammers who register multiple participants from a single source," if it means one person per computer per household?! If so they should change the rules as such. But I am tickled that people will no longer be able to cheat so easily! cheers to that! Maybe I'll finally win something! :sunny: :crazytongue:

another thing is that eprize doesn't provide a way to change your address...so I've moved 4 times in the last 2 1/2 years and I've had to occasionally register with a different email address to be allowed to enter with my correct address. I realize this could look suspicious but when you contact eprize they don't provide much help and this is theonly way i can assure if I win my prizes will get to my new address. I already know I lost atleast 1 prize the last time i moved (although it was a different sweeps admin)

I am finding articles about this dating back to 2005. It looks as though this isn't anything new.

if it means one person per computer per household?! If so they should change the rules as such.

Their rules, and ePrize has acknowledged this in email inquiries, do allow each person permitted per the rules in the household to enter their sweepstakes even from the same computer.

They're trying to crack down on those people creating numerous names and email addresses to gain extra entries.

They'll question 150 entries coming from the same computer, not 2 or 3.

I find it time consuming just to enter myself. and i believe eprize you have to manually keystroke everything, i know that from the Caffeine Instant wins.

and now adays most contests have a "code" that you have to type in too (although to be honest i find some of them very hard to make out and i have to retype in another code, because i couldn't make it out the first time and i typed it wrong, , and that has to be manually done too.

it's time consuming just to enter one time. i don't know how people do it multiple times.

Only on anything that is flash like ePrize's Caffeine Now sweepstakes. I use Roboform on most of ePrize's sweepstakes.

Someone was bragging about cheating on one of the Coca Cola ones (150 entries per day). He created some program to do it. I just emailed Coca-Cola Sweepstakes with the link to the forum where he and others were bragging about cheating.

Myself I think it would be great if they stopped the cheating. It makes it hard on everyone else. I just hope they don't accidentally get some innocent person. I really get tired of seeing post where they won, their aunt, uncle, husband, 28 children, 12 dogs and 3 goats all won the same contest that is a one per person contest. But I also know this is an ongoing thing and it is next to impossible to catch all the people. I saw the coca cola post you were talking about 150 entries, glad you sent it in so they could stop it. good luck to everyone, and if you follow the rules you will be o.k.,(most of the time) unfortanatly sometimes someone innocent has to pay for all the bad.

I have roboform and I have to do it eprize (caffeine ones ) manually, it won't fill it in for me. that can be time consuming, but, i stick with it, because i've had luck with the caffeine ones in the past.

I sometimes do the coca cola ones, on some i notice is says "you may enter up to 10X's", i'm lucky if i can enter a couple times, i never won on the coca cola ones, so i get alittle frustrated/ bored entering them, and i read on the threads that other people are lucky with them and they win multiple times. if it's your thang , it's your thang!

Good to know. Got a little worried because on another website all these people have been disqualified. They swear up and down they follow the rules but one can never tell. Two people including myself will play eprize. we always read the rules and if it says one per household than only one of us enters. We each have our own email with the same internet and use the same computer.
I hope they cut down on those using 150 per computer. It is disgusting!
