Entered a sweepstakes on Instagram!

Okay so I entered this sweepstakes on Instagram to claim my prize for a yeti cooler, they want me to fill out a registration for three days and then cancel! I don’t feel comfortable putting in my credit card info and on the sweepstakes i don’t see anything about this here is the official rules! Cooler is $225 arv! But with any sweepstakes I know the rule generally is no purchase necessary!

You are smart to ask and check rules. But, sorry to say, you are likely being scammed. (A similar thing happened to me.)
On social media it’s often easy to see who entered a sweep. Then scammers then message the person to say they’ve won….
Another thing is to check who sent you the ‘notice.’ If it’s clear it’s not from the official account of the sponsor, it should be clear it’s a scam.
I’ve NEVER heard of winners being asked for credit card number. Never.

I have to agree with everyone here. Likely a scam. I'm sorry! Especially if it's not stated in the official rules :/

Someday people will start thinking and stop believing in free cheese in a mousetrap, but for now, we will have to read heartbreaking stories about scammers. Understand that no one on the Internet will agree to give you something for free. Even relatives and friends sometimes do not want to borrow $ 50, and an unfamiliar user will suddenly be generous with $ 250. I am glad that someone else believes in humanity, but not so much.
