so i kept getting various ph calls from telemarketers who said i had given out my ph number with permission. finally, i asked one of them, and they said they got my ph number from the Ellen sweeps. told him to get my number off their lists please. now, i'm using cell ph number instead.
just heads up.

Yeah, you have to read the privacy policy too.

Everything in life is a trade off so I keep in mind that when a sponsor chooses to use their advertising money on a promotion {sweepstakes, contest, etc.} that they are looking for new customers and/or trying to keep the ones they have.

We are free to decide what our comfort level is on every sweeps we enter, so it's on ^us^ to check out their privacy policy/watch for check boxes on how they use our info & we need to decide when they go above our comfort level.

That said? It is possible if you opt out, you will DQ yourself for their promos.

yeah, i vaguely remember something stated in the sweeps, about being contacted. also happened with a Branson vacation sweeps I entered. still getting calls from that one. i don't mind so much but my hubby gets very annoyed, he is at home a lot due to health problems. oh well, if i would just win a nice big prize, that would make up for this "crazy obsession" of sweeping, as he calls it.
let's all win BIG!

What I have been doing is only entering my cell number and then I have a prerecorded message that this number does not accept solicitation calls and if they are calling for that reason to remove my number from their list. I also have some that continue to call so I search the number via the Internet and see if it is indeed span - then I place the number in my phone as a spam number. It comes with the territory I guess. But one day, one of those numbers is going to be for a big win!!!! (crossed fingers)
